They weren't, prior to this patch those 6 DHS did not overwhelm the better Damage to Heat ration of the cSPLs. 5 cSPL > 6 cERSL (+ 2 DHS) in DPS, or at least was. The question used to be whether you wanted 35m better optimal, or 25% decrease in duration. Most realized the correct answer was shorter duration.

If you don't want people to comment about the cERPPC, then don't mention it in your post in the first place, especially since it wasn't really a nerf since heat generally limits your DPS more than cooldown does with the cERPPC anyway, ezpz.

Finally could test it using my method and as we all know it's also bugged in-game. But method works as intended.

This was not in the patch notes.
Just checked their HPS stats. It assumes 10 heat for 1.96 HPS which the changes table large lasers provides.

Not like it still has lower heat and higher damage than it should have. http://www.sarna.net...nge_Large_Laser Oh wait.

Let's just stick to what stats make the guns work in MWO.

You missed my point. I was commenting on how silly it is to complain on how something you used that got nerfed is still better than it was in the source material. I agree that values should be changed case by case to better fit the game.

Balance in MWO is orders of magnitude better than TT. Seriously. I think TT is a fine example of complexity bias: the rules are complex and we tend to assume that complexity equals quality, even if there's evidence to the contrary. Compare that to the novels, where artistic license meant a single AC5 could be a fearsome weapon. The novels describe a style of mech combat. I'd much rather they get the feel of that combat right, and the TT rules are of little help in that regard.
