What's your problem exactly? You want people run builds you like, make own group.

Same as usual.

People bringing totally non-competitive builds to a mode that demands it - hell, the warning screen says it.

People that do the potato are the ones that cry the most. No surprise, problem begins and ends with them.

He's making false claims? lol... Coming from the King of false claims, that is a bit rich.

You claim to have "regularly" played in Season 1 of FP, yet were nowhere to be seen on the leaderboard. Therefore meaning you played a grand total of - 0 - matches in 9 months.
You can't have played "alongside" people if you never, actually, played.

The OP is actually more likely someone who is sick of the players that cannot achieve higher than 150 avg match score (bottom of the barrell ability wise). Said players bring crap builds and won't work as a team when it's stated that "optimised builds and teamwork" are a straight up requirement.

That is the bad players problem. No one else is to blame.

So lets see your trying to justify the OP,s topic? Which is against the TOS? by calling players below his skill level potatoes and he is so LEET33 that his type can harass and demean players in game?

And your stating new players that only do 150 damage per FP battle and learning should basically just uninstall MWO right?

Why don't you just go back to your elitist pals go to the comp play and let everyone else enjoy MWO and FP regardless of there builds or skill levels?

Here is the problem with your statement, and something you just can't seem to comprehend....

Everyone has a right to play the game as they see fit. Listen to calls, don't listen to calls, bring meta builds, bring stock builds, it is your game, play it as you like within the TOS.

But you don't then get to complain because some people play to win and others play to 'have fun' and be taken seriously. That is just about the text book definition of hypocrisy.

There will always be players better than you and worse than you. You are going to stomp, get stomped, and have close nail biting matches. A MM in QP doesn't prevent 12-0 matches, why do you think it will prevent them in FP? A split queue won't prevent them either.

I can tell you something that does work though, It has worked for me since day one in MWO. Grouping up and working as a team. If you don't want to get stomped in any game mode of MWO, the only true way to consistently prevent it is teamwork. And if you don't want to do that, that is fine, no one can force you. You do you. Just don't be surprised when you get stomped more often than not.

Huh? I just finished up playing MRBC S8. 3rd dabble in comp leagues in 12 months.

One thing to remember about Faction Play

Posted Image

Key points:

1. People bring highly optimised/customised builds (META)
2. Experienced / Organised Mechwarriors play this mode (Teams)
3. If you are new we strongly recommend honing skills elsewhere (Solo PUG hell bent on doing your own thing)

PGI themselves have warned people, they have not taken notice. Not anyone's problem but their own if they are of low skill and poor builds.

Why do people still talk about CW having bad players.
The Mode was DOA, most ( not all) competitive teams do not play it.

CW is seen as a place to go to farm cbills

Cause it got worse with QP4.1 :P

Fri night US Peak (AU Lunch onward) is usually 12 v 12 for 4-6hrs straight. Good teams, good fights.
That's usually the bulk of the time I play in the last 2 months. MWO as a whole is boring me badly of late.

QP is boring as fark also as outputting 1k dmg is the norm now with stupid strikes and GQ off-peak times is... Horrific wait time.

The problem isn't people wanting to bring bad builds and play badly. Bads gonna bad.

It's that they want to bring bad builds, play badly and still win just as much as people bringing good builds and playing well.

That's the crux of the argument. Some people want to put in 10% of the effort and still get 100% of the reward and sense of accomplishment and they feel that anyone putting in more than 10% should have to leave, so they don't feel bad about refusing to put in the minimum viable effort.

As noted in the quote people get passed to get into FW the minimum expectation is posted on the door. It's not 'elitist' to assume that everyone who clicks on that to accept it and move forward is, in fact, looking to meet minimum viable expectations as set to get into the mode.

Want to play with them, want to see people do well and improve. Me, my friends, the people I play with and against, everyone.

The problem is that there's this segment of the game who wants the rewards of FW but the effort of T5 QP and wants FW changed to support that.

No.

Put the maps/modes in QP rotation, let people to potato it up there. Having an expectation that people will at least vaguely attempt to hit the minimum expectations listed on playing FW isn't unreasonable. It's the bare, rock bottom minimum expectation.

Glad you brought this up...it's been a couple days since we have had a new " who is ruining FW" thread going....can't go for too long without one.

For those who don't keep up with how this forum thread game is played: Possible choices for who is responsible for ruining the game seem to rotate in the following categories:

1. Good Players---aka Hackers...they must be hacking to get 2k damage when most can't get 1k

2. Eliteists: Not sure what it really means. But seems to be in reference to experienced players who are feed up with bad ideas

3. New Players: players who announce this is my first FW match in comms and do sub-200 dmg in 4 mechs or drop that LRM boat in scouting. Not surprising performance , but still annoying to experienced players who lose games because of it

4. Terribads: See #3. Except they make no apologies for their play and have no hope for getting better....as they see no need to change..

5. PGI: always a popular choice...

6. Mercs: do Mercs even like Mercs?? Cause they get blamed for a lot in this mode.

7. Clanners/IS: Whoever is doing well at any given time needs to be nerfed.

8. Units: coordination is hard for solo's to pull off...so instead of learning it...it must be eliminated

9. Solos: they do their own thing...give away the kill lead in the final seconds for no reason...etc..etc.. basically they are the anti-coordination faction of this game.

10. KCom or Evil: just because they are better than most players.

So, is this more of a #3,#4 or #9 in your mind??? With the potato reference it seemed more like a #4 to me.

This thread remind me of something.

This OP is typical of why Pugs/Casuals/New players don't want to play FP these types of elitists are overbearing I know it all types that make playing FP un-fun for everyone.

They get on in-game voice yelling at players like WE LEET YOU SUCK YOU POTATOS ETC all match long all I have to say to you sir is (YOUR LUCKY YOU HAVE PLAYERS TO SHOOT AT) it could be a lot worse for you poor elitists.

If you suck you deserve to be told you suck.... You don't have some kind of invulnerability shield around you where you can be an idiot but nobody is allowed to call you on it... Guess what buttercup... I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT SOME CUPCAKE GETTING HIS FEELERS HURT!!!... If you're choice of builds or tactics is bringing down your team you deserve no less than the truth about that fact because it is FACTUAL.... Facts DO NOT care if they are offensive to your feelings... Grow some thicker skin and suck it up. So sick of this generation of morons who think they're entitled to do as they please but everyone else has to be nice to them while they do it....

... and elitist approach is not helping at all
when a small group joined by pugs they regularly ignore the team chatting among themselves and only using the pugs as fodder, resulting in the same failure and being pissed off when the pugs stop responding to their calls that are meant not win, but to send all non-of-their own as cannon fodder

I am not a great player, and when trying to use Meta in the past I tended to do much worse than using my own builds.

I do not play faction play that often, mostly because of the long wait times in the UK evenings, however when I have played with a half decent drop caller I tend to do rather well (as in 1.5k+ damage and a win or at least close match), however if we do not have a good drop caller (or even worse I am asked to call, because I love unautherdox stratagies, and often discover why they are not often used) I tend to do less than brilliantly, that said I do not think I have ever had less than 600 damage in a 12v12 FP match.

Your persional skills and even Mechs you bring are much less important than working as a team, preferably with a competant persion in charge.

People just lose in the mechlab.

I have seen....

LRM Atlases
LRM Kingcrabs
LRM everything
6xMG 2xERPPC Kingcrabs
a 1xPPC Awesome - it never overheats so it should be able to kill everyone (it wont)
Stock Timber Primes (you know, with the two MGs and the single Medium pulse that are out of place) Not a good idea to try to relive your childhood roleplaying a stock mech in CW.
LRM Jenners
LRM Hellbringers ......
Thats all I can think of right now but I'm sure there was more.

Anyways if you want to do something, all you can do is

1. Crap talk people with bad builds but don't do it in a way that will get you banned.

Good: Your 6 machinegun LRM King Crab is a horrible build
Bad: Your build sucks you should quit the game lol

Make sure to add in your own condescending and sarcastic spin a different way each time.

2. If you have the better builds and the better abilities then organize with like minded people and pound it into your enemies. Keep repeating this and eventually FP will be vibrant and full of players.

Sounds like you were pugging...in Faction Warfare...which I advise against, continually advise against, and will always advise against...

Drop with an actual group of players from the same unit. You won't run into this problem ever again.

After years of groups doing and trying this, cw is for sure vibrant and full of players ...

People try, then decide if its fun, if not they leave.
We are talking about a virtual computer game played in spare times, not a job that pays the bills.
Maybe some can be bribed, most will leave the mode or the game.
