Did some scouting matches today, clan.

Top troll builds of today.

LRM Hunchback with 64 KPH on Terra Therma.
Nova with AC5 Streak 6 (and nothing else)
Nova with AC2 and 2 mediums ER (and nothing else)
ACH with Large Pulse Laser (and nothing else)

None of these dudes scored more than 100dmg of course.

Worst thing is most of them even are in a unit or have a Banner (so they bought at least 1 mechpack),
so im assuming none of them did under 200 games.

Still their mechs are worse than trial mechs basically and they play like first timers.

How am i supposed to enjoy those games?
Im top performer in every game still we get stomped 10 times in a row?

Why do people like that play scouting at all?
Not like scouting offers great rewards.

Why are people with custom mechs that bad?
I mean even a first timer would be able to come up with a better loadout.

Is that just trolling?

Or what am I not getting here?

What's your problem exactly? You want people run builds you like, make own group.

They play scouting because one of the event challenges for today is for Scouting. They either forgot to note that the challenge requires a victory or they're trying too hard to work the other challenge for assists in a medium mech in with it and make everyone else get the kills.

They may get away with builds like that in a 12v12, but if they don't play Scouting enough they don't know that you can't bring a slacker build and expect to win. Even if it works just fine in an Invasion deck, you still have to adjust for less ammo, more blammo/heat control because combat in the mode is extremely front-loaded.

I've play Faction warfare with good players but never a full group, and there is always this one player that disconnects as soon as he see's us. Remind you of anyone Neb's. I think doing that to any team is worst than bringing a build that doesn't fit your play style ... maybe if you hung around in matches more often you could give some of your awesome advice. :D

You've got it backwards...FW is FOR the potatoes.

Remember, PGI caters to the lowest common denominator. The idea is to hook them in, milk them for as much as you can (would you like to buy a mech pack?), then throw them into the deep end so they'll get sick and leave.

Lather, rinse, repeat if necessary.

Bads gonna bad.

It's important to understand that a lot of people are very defensive of their poor choices. More than they are of their good choices. If they make a stupid choice (like a bad mech build) then admitting it's bad is admitting they're wrong. Most people just don't have the self confidence or self respect to do that. So they'll bring bad mechs, do badly, blame others and if called on it double down on the stupid.

That's not unique to mwo.

The event draws in people that don't know about scout mode. Had a loss because the guy didn't understand the dropship doesn't leave right.

Also had a guy with Streaks. When I told him not to bring streaks. He said he did good damage. But it's damage that went to all the wrong places. You need concentrated burst damage in the same spot as much as possible.

This OP is typical of why Pugs/Casuals/New players don't want to play FP these types of elitists are overbearing I know it all types that make playing FP un-fun for everyone.

They get on in-game voice yelling at players like WE LEET YOU SUCK YOU POTATOS ETC all match long all I have to say to you sir is (YOUR LUCKY YOU HAVE PLAYERS TO SHOOT AT) it could be a lot worse for you poor elitists.

Glad you brought this up...it's been a couple days since we have had a new " who is ruining FW" thread going....can't go for too long without one.

For those who don't keep up with how this forum thread game is played: Possible choices for who is responsible for ruining the game seem to rotate in the following categories:

1. Good Players---aka Hackers...they must be hacking to get 2k damage when most can't get 1k

2. Eliteists: Not sure what it really means. But seems to be in reference to experienced players who are feed up with bad ideas

3. New Players: players who announce this is my first FW match in comms and do sub-200 dmg in 4 mechs or drop that LRM boat in scouting. Not surprising performance , but still annoying to experienced players who lose games because of it

4. Terribads: See #3. Except they make no apologies for their play and have no hope for getting better....as they see no need to change..

5. PGI: always a popular choice...

6. Mercs: do Mercs even like Mercs?? Cause they get blamed for a lot in this mode.

7. Clanners/IS: Whoever is doing well at any given time needs to be nerfed.

8. Units: coordination is hard for solo's to pull off...so instead of learning it...it must be eliminated

9. Solos: they do their own thing...give away the kill lead in the final seconds for no reason...etc..etc.. basically they are the anti-coordination faction of this game.

10. KCom or Evil: just because they are better than most players.

So, is this more of a #3,#4 or #9 in your mind??? With the potato reference it seemed more like a #4 to me.

Can't really go with you on this one, KC...those builds are simply wrong for Scouting. They may be right for that player's playstyle (can't really picture WHAT that style is, but...), but their kind of playstyle won't fly in Scouting when they are 25% of the force. It's not elitist to point that out.

(Also, I bring streaks to scouting and last night received a 'F you and F your Clan streaks' in All chat from someone who thought he could bring a Commando to a brawl and try to be basically invulnerable. I told him that he sounded nice, but by then he had already disconnected. The point is, it's important to cover all the potential opponents. You can't ALL bring streaks, but we wouldn't have been able to kill him before he got away without them.)

If you want to join CW you should have a) a custom drop deck of 4 of your own mechs with 91 SP(no trials) b ) Tier 2.

It's time PGI puts in a barrier for players to join their so-called "endgame" content.

Yeah, the permabads. CW is riddled by them. It's not really a "join a unit" thing, because the are often in units. It's a "try hitting an atlas that has shutdown 30m infront of you with more than 1/3 of your laserburn".

The average skill in CW really crushed through the bottom of the barrel. People keep making threads with ideas on how to exclude "new" players from CW, failing to realize the CW permabads have been here for like 4 years.

And typical of the of the know it all, special snowflake solo player complaining about he needs his own safe space. See, can do that too.

And again, one of those three have ZERO place in CW. To say otherwise is to want to club seals. The remaining two can and should play. However, they should also understand what they are getting into and not blame others for their own choices because that is not fun for anyone. They should also understand that to maximize the experience they should join a group/unit as that is fun for everyone.

Now, since your not some PUG, or some casual, and not new, why do you let them speak for themselves instead of using them to serve your own needs.

You should yourself back off and stop making false claims I have personally played along side pugs casuals and new players for 4+ years as a unit/group player and as a PUG.

To be fair I would say I have played with some great unit/group players and heard and seen what other group/unit players have said on in-game voice and TS3 over 4+ years that was terrible harassment both vocal and in battle harassment towards pugs/casuals/new players as well.

This OP in this topic is stereotypical of the bad side of those unit group players in MWO and FP and you know it.

I bet it's just as irritating for the New players, Terribads and other assorted potatoes to get face planted every single match as it is for the "elitists" that do the planting.

It's a shame there isn't any way to separate people based on skill, whether they own their mech, loadout, etc. Even basic matchmaking is beyond PGI's abilities....go check out the solo queue if you don't believe me.

You basically got two options....get better and swim, or continue being a terripotato and keep losing. Complaining without offering a solution is called "whining."

While I agree with your first point, the tier system is nothing more than how many QP games you have played, it's no indicator of skill and some of us that have been around since day one stopped playing QP when FW came out so our tier never changed and currently I'm only a tier 3, yet I have a very nice FW win/loss record so please don't try to use the tier system, it's broken.

First off Willy I and many others have posted alternative game play for FP so your point is? Shall we call the bad demining harassing unit/group players Cabbages? it would seen fitting to call it Bad Cabbages unit/groups VS pugs/casuals/new players that like to play FP but do not want the constant harassment by these individuals.

PGI set up FP to fail from the beginning they can turn it around make it fun for everyone but it is up to them to decide its fate not the Cabbages.
