I'm tempted to buy one just so I can sneak up on mechs, flash the sirens, then smash them with an AC/20.

The devs need to stop worrying about the uptight purists and release more of these funny features that remind people we're playing a game.

The first step to get people who are having fun but annoying you is to make a whine thread, trust me they will be enticed to stop immediately.

I just finished a match where I had a boatload of fun flashing the lights during a brawl - absolutely no point to it other than the other guy wondering what the heck I was doing, I'd spam my AC5 and when he'd face me I'd then hit the lights and sirens and turn them off after backing away. I ended up with 1 kill (2KMDDs), 9 assist, and 559 damage. Not bad for my little urbie.

I've also changed the paint job - I was concerned that with the dark colours others wouldn't be able to see me and therefore wouldn't respect my authority, so I went with a white primary, blue secondary, and yellow/gold for the tertiary colours.

Although... first they had netcode to play a sound in your game file if a game condition was met. Now they have netcode to play a sound in your game if a bound key is pressed. I wonder... 🤔

Does this mean I wouldn't have to carry terrible roleplayers in their stock builds anymore?

This is one of the best things PGI has done in a long time. It might get me back into Inner Sphere mechs even. No ruining everyone's fun for you.

Yeah, WWII was just a bunch of scrub kiddies who didn't know what SRS BSNS it was.

Do you know how much funny stuff gets written on helmets, guns and bombs in the military? Any military around the world, really?

Do you know how many tank crews would *love* to get to put a big siren and flashing bar on their tank for urban patrol, just to **** with people?

If we had mechs in the modern army they would be *covered* in funny graffiti and funny stuff. Especially if soldiers actually owned them. Big hollow bunny ears on Catapults and the number of large ringing brass balls hanging down from Atlases.

If you want to pretend it's all SRS BSNS that's fine, but everyone else would just laugh at you. Every unit hates that ******* with no sense of humor.
