And no matter how many times it is said, people are still not aiming for the legs, nor are the big guys putting their back against something...!!!

Putting my back against enemy lights doesn't work?

What role do you see for light mechs in MWO, if they should generally lose to mediums, heavies, and assaults?

ever see the purpose of a destroyer in naval warfare

edit: originally called a torpedo boat destroyer but soon evolved into just destroyer

that's a light Mech

Thats pretty much All I do. And I have 2 light mechs in my garage to my name. I lurk. intercept enemy lights early on. then late game look for stragglers that cant keep up with me while i circle them, or rear CT core distracted mechs. I honestly dont see how people have issues running lights unless your team sucks and doesnt allow you to do your job.

What you said before implies you want them worse than mediums, heavies, and assaults. As things stand though, scouting, spotting, and capping in MWO is rather pointless. This game might be based on battletech, but it's an arena shooter -- lights deserve a fair cbill return similar to any other mechs, and that comes from damage done.

So advocate better cbill rewards for objectives instead of suggesting lights brawling formations of enemies is how things ought to be.

Yeah, this challenge is not great. I don't like playing Lights and I don't do well with them. Good thing it's 40 assists and not 10 kills or something cause I'd probably never get that. Too many Lights also means a low damage output team, as well as long queue times. They should probably not restrict challenges to one specific weight class.

It's not.
People make it pointless because they don't care about objectives, blame everyone using LRMs for any bad thing happening and don't care about getting flanked or backstabbed.

I really like it when these goals and events last long enough and push enough people to actually change the meta of battles up.

The light challenge has been a lot of fun, it has also made me realise how god damn weak light mechs are. My locusts and spiders feel so much weaker than they did before skill tree and changes. Ah well life goes on.

it seriously is amazing how much fun can be had when there's incentive for people to do something other than vote skirmish and play long range trading builds

hopefully PGI will learn something from this but eh, probably not

Why the **** would anyone care about objectives when PGI pays you so little for doing them?

PGI doesn't care about objectives either, or they'd make doing the objective actually pay out just as well or better than kills and damage.

Just wanted to thank PGI for the Rush Hour Challenge today. It's been a hoot playing games with half the mechs being lights. Pure madness, and total change of gameplay. Would love more events that stir things up so much!

Yep, has been great to wolfpack it up. Seen some great matches with lights on both teams running riot together.
