Hello MechWarriors. I have been having an issue with mwo and though the community here might be able to help me. Rather then re-explain everything I am posting this copy of the letter I wrote to support:

Hello. For about a month now I have been having strange problems with MWO. My problems are similar to the known North American Server issue and up until recently I just assumed that was my issue. While playing MWO at-least once per game my client with time out. What I mean by that is all the other mechs will be walking in place and I can move around freely as I normally would. When the timeout finally catches up I find myself in a completely different part of the map sometimes looking in a different direction. As I am sure you can understand this is a very frustrating issue as MWO requires positioning to be successful. [/color]

Recently a friend came over to the house to play some group que games. His computer is less powerful than mine but still a modern rig. His wireless card is significantly older than mine as well. He was playing right next to me, on the same wireless connection, in the same games and he never experienced a problem. This makes me feel as though this is a MWO software issue or an issue with my computer specifically.

I have tried turning off background services such as overclocking programs and software update utilities with no change.
I have tried adjusting the QOS for my pc in my router settings but again no change.
I have tried relocating my wireless card to another slot inside my computer but again no change.
I have tried running the MWO repair tool, no errors found, no change.
I have tried updating the software on my wireless card, no change.
I have been playing from this location for 5+ years without wireless issue
This PC was upgraded about a year ago and has worked great since then.
I recently changed out my router and wireless card in response to the NA server issue. I am in the process of changing back to see if the issue has something to do with the new card.
Power setting: High Performance
My specs
6600k @4.5ghz 1.3v
Corsair Vengeance 3000mhz XMP 24gb
GTX1080 Hybrid at stock settings
Asus Z170-ar
1000w Corsair HX PS
TP link AC19000 Wireless card (using 2.4ghz as 5ghz signal is low)
windows 7
My buddy
4690k @ 4.4ghz
G-skill 16gb ddr3 @ 2400mhz
MSI Z97 PC Mate
evga gtx970 at stock settings
Generic wireless N Card @2.4ghz
windows 7

Differences of note
My os is on a sold state but my game is on a WD black.
His os and game are both on a regular old 7200rpm hd.
Again for several hours of play I had atleast one instance of this issue per game and when I would look at my friends screen everything was playing just as it should. This makes me think the issue has something to do with either the MWO software on my computer or my computer itself. I, as best as I can tell, am not experiencing any other computer or game issues on this machine.

Thank you for your time and any ideas you may have.

For the wireless connection, how is yours system actually setup? What ISP?
Do you have 5ghz signal disabled completely or did you have it setup as a bridge? Have you reset the wireless card then set to 2.4ghz?

I would also suggest sending in a ticket to the helpdesk too.

Also, control panel, power options set to High Performance.

And, are you able to connect via cable?

Are there any other wireless devices around your system?

And have you tried changing channels?

Thank you for the quick response.

-Century Link is my ISP. 40down, 20up.
-Both 2.5 and 5.0 ghz are active. This has never been an issue in the 5+ years I have played from this location?
-High Performance is enabled.
-A cable would be a great level 1 trouble shooting technique... PITA, but I agree this would be good to try. just have to move everything downstairs to make it work.
-No other wireless devices normally other than my cell phone. I have tried turning it off, moving it to another room.
-Yes I have tried changing channels. Currently channel one @ 2.5 ghz has 5 of 5 bars signal strength and the least amount of interference in my wireless audit.

I just reinstalled my old wireless card but have not had a chance to test it yet.
I am also noticing that despite downloading the most recent driver from TP-Link, extracting it to desktop, uninstalling the wireless driver, restarting, and running the installation file... the drive still thinks it was built in 2014 and not 2017 as it should. Very confused as to why that is. As best I can tell, despite running the new drive install application, the drive being used is the default windows 7 driver. I have tried this with both wireless cards, neither of them show the 2017 driver under driver properties.

I have edited the original post to reflect this information.
I will post more up as I learn more.

I'd probably point the finger at this

and the reason I'm going to start with that is that you say the signal on 5ghz is low, don't get me wrong, I've no doubt that its a reasonable card, but I'm looking at those default antennas, and your other components, and I'm thinking, you need to get them antennas further away from the back of your case ... they are probably 2 dbi each ... you didn't happen to mention what the router your using was either ... as it will probably have an impact on your communication to it, and what sort of antennas it uses .... sometimes, aligning things 'better' by one inch can have a dramatic impact in terms of 'echoing' .... $20-$30 for a 3x3 antenna depending where u live ...

you could adding the channel stats cvar from here,

you could try tuning some of these values to suit yourself, they go into a user.cfg, shouldn't need anything too exotic ...

--; 0) normal / 1) show enhanced network channel statistics in game
net_channelstats = 1

--; 1000) normal / 1472) tcp normal max (too high, will fragment packets)
net_maxpacketsize = 1450

--; 1) minimize packets sent on channel / 0) seemed better for me
net_new_queue_behaviour = 0

--; 5) normal - Controls the length of time between ping packets.
net_ping_time = 3

and in relation to the driver, the 'new' driver is probably 'filtered' out from the list because it doesn't meet the digital signature enforcement requirements that are default on windows 10 .... and the manufacturers don't tend to front many of them to Microsoft and pay the exorbitant fee for a driver that is only ever so far away from being replaced ...

try putting your case where your friends was, 1m to the side can have a very big impact in terms of latency ...
