I am a online player with Star Trek Online I love having my own (team) Lance with different abilities but I would like to join other lances and sometime be a single player playing in a group of Mech's from 4 to 20. What is your thoughts on this?

My understanding is there will be no AI "companions", so your lancemates are going to be other players.

It's all down to how the matchmaking system is set up but I would say that there will be a minimum of four people (1 lance) on a side. The intention is that most people would join either one of the Factions or a Merc Company and play as groups. Getting "bad" players will be the luck of the draw at the start when the system has no way of ranking players. this should sort itself out as people play more.

Lol, you just have to suck it up and move onto the next battle, and hope you don't get stuck with the same pilots again.

Hehe I'll probably be one of the "Bad Players"" to start with since I don't have a lot of liesure time to practice these days. So I apologize in advance.

That being said one of my first online games was a world war II flight sim. Fortunately, and this is a suggestion I would like to pass on they had an arena specifically for new players to go and learn the ropes from more veteran players. I had a guy take me under his wing and in three hours I went from sitting duck to possibly dangerous. So Devs, can we have an area specifically for new player training please? Also I'd like to suggest finding some good Mechwarriors to learn from, or if you are one of the good ones please take some time to pass on your skills.

That being said one of the things I learned quick was that good teamwork can often offset individually poor skill. So when you get dropped into a group link up with somebody and figure out how you can best work together. You still might end up getting smoked quick but your odds go up significantly.
