Ive never waited so little to find a PTS match! Even Days into it. It only takes a few seconds and its MUCH faster than the live client for me being which takes 7-10 minutes for me to find a match. People are loving playing the game on the PTS for a change! The last time I think this happened was when clans were added.

It just goes to show people are MUCH happier when we get to keep all we have AND get new stuff, instead of getting rid of what we have in place of something different. Adding new content/features FAR better for the game than constantly trying to re-invent the game as PGI has done many times in the past.

P.s I dont consider the Skill tree as re-inventing the game. It was a new addition because what it replaced was almost non existent, simply a linear upgrade path grind. So skill tree is good even thought it could have been handled with more precision. I am referring to stuff like energy draw, ghost targeting range, removal of hit detection hud elemts etc.

And probably the worst stuff, like Taking out old maps instead of just keeping the old ones adding the new ones, and calling them something different. Taking out the option for 8v8. Taking out old Predator Heat vision, or direction arrows on the minimap instead of just adding it as a new Skill or module or setting etc. Toning down nice destruction effects ammo explosion, nice damage sprites, IK, etc.

Basically what I'm saying is the game should be built upon non tore down and re-sculpted.

It does seem many people are playing. And why now, this thing is bigger than skill tree.

And it's a blast too.

Lots of folks testing... which is extremely good. Lots of good exchange of critique and ideas flowing in the PTS forum.

Now if we can just figure out how to mute the salty few who haven't figured out how to be critical without being denigrating... Posted Image

If they're anything like me they were browsing the web one day and found out they're advancing the timeline. Now we get into an interesting mess on the PTS of course, for people to post on, but we know PGI has developed better statistical methods of deconstructing gameplay. This is evident by how varied the challenges have become. So now that I know that, and that the madcat mk2 is on its way along with other favorites, it's only justifiable that my interest is piqued.

Takes you 7 minutes to find a match on the live server? Are you locked to only one region and trying to drop in a heavy?

I have all 3 servers checked and drop in assaults or mediums or lights in just a few seconds.

Most of the PTS players I've come across are simpletons that can't get over their one click wonder rocket launcher meme builds, probably because it's the only time they ever kill anyone that fast. :P

New shiny stuff. It's the biggest change to MWO since the Clan launch in June 2014. Lots of people were on that PTS, too.

I dunno. New shinies early access is way more interesting than cockpit swag and C-bills.

Have you seen the "Pick a prize?" 2xPremium colors and 2xPattern are a nice thing.

I do hope the attitude of people that are trying new tech on PTS will be more of :
"angry forum rant incoming - PGI you *BEEP!!* it up again"

rather than "it's so bad I don't care anymore".

It is the first major change in the core game mechanics since clans first came out. IS get clan like weaponry for the first time. It's been just mech packs and small nerfs/buffs since clans.

Yep, i'm loving it too.

So much so that I want PGI to add a 12v12 bucket in addition to 4v4. The MM could try to fill the 12v12 first, and if it struggles, drop you to 4v4.

Teams of 4v4 are all well and good (and surprisingly fun), but I get the feeling that testing in 12v12 will give people a far better indication of what will work best in real world conditions when the tech goes live. Heavy Gauss, for example, shines in 4v4, but ammo limitations might hold it back in 12v12. Missiles also tend to work better in slower paced 12v12 matches, whereas in the often quick and brutal knife fights in 4v4 they rarely get a chance to make as much of an impact.

You'd also probably see a marked decrease in lulz builds like the kerblammo launcher archer.

I think it would show problem areas more efficiently too - if a large portion of a team starts boating particular weapons and dominating, you'll understand the severity of that domination better in larger matches.

PTR 4v4 experience proves that we dont need more potatoes to have better fun. BRING BACK 8v8, and use the rest of the resources to bring back old damage indicators!
