and i just did 1200 on an escort match, but most of that was against an unescorted atlas.
anis going to be in the same league as a non-hero dire. but its probibly better at fighting closer in. as an ac2 platform i think the jager dd is still going to be better.

Smartly utilising your effective range on them puts you way outside of most of your teams range, even LRM boats will be in front of you, and makes for an easy to tank stream for your target, and makes you very visible and tends to show the path to you that will not get them shot all the way.
They hurt for sure when massed, but using them effectively and being useful to the team at the same time can be annoyingly difficult. For example, if you do snipe with them, what do you do when you come up vs a PPC/gauss sniper? What do you do when the light wolfpack eventually hunts your alone butt down?

i probibly wouldnt use this thing in fp, but in qp it can be pretty brutal. when in a dire you should always minimize the distance between you and your team. you often do this the entire match. so its good to have a weapon that can shoot n scoot. ac2s are pretty good at this, they travel pretty fast and are easy to lead with at range so you can hit moving targets. i just had a game on polar where the entire team was on the move, and much of my maneuvering revolved around not getting left too far away from the team, almost the entire time i was able to shoot enemy mechs, being out of range of most of their guns, it was usually with impunity. periodically, like literally every 10-15 seconds, look around for light mechs, because you are a prime target, if you are far away from your team especially. detecting them early and showing them how good your aim is tends to be a really good deterrent.

I guess it just goes further to show you can get away with just about anything in QP if you get good enough at it.
Not making fun, I have a number of builds that function like this, just for QP fun.

Yeah, the d-bag even said he was reporting me. Guess I should of just stayed still and died. Sorry my lance won the match using our game breaking advanced techniques. I should of told the player that multiple weapon groups were also possible, his head might of exploded.

ive never accused anyone of hacking. i was probibly making fun of people spewing hackusations. you sometimes find one of those types on your team more interested in bucking the blame for their lack of skill rather than use the opportunity to get gud.
