Unless you can tell me what exactly those efforts and improvements would be, the answer has got to be "hell no".
Is single bucket an improvement? How about the inclusion of QP maps and modes? The unit tax? The focus on clan v IS as opposed to inter-faction warfare? Lots of things are viewed as improvements by PGI that as a player I consider a travesty. To actually pay them money for efforts and improvements I would want...no need...to have some say in what those efforts and improvement would be.

That said, if they did pursue this, I'd want to see them hire a game designer who has an understanding of game design on par with the people who designed the original Portal, and on level with someone like Richard Garfield in terms of understanding what drives players to act in specific ways.
And naterist, I think you're right, but I'd be willing to spend $10/month for a year or so as an experiment if enough other players were willing. I already spend more than that each on Netflix and Hulu and don't get as much value out of them.
I'd also be tempted to suggest that Faction Play then be only available if you're paying the subscription, but I suspect that wouldn't work at this point simply because of the reputation that it's earned up to this point.

That's what I believe has happened here. I don't think they have found the right designer who can provide a clear vision for what would actually be an improvement in the mode.
I also think there is a bit of a "Too many cooks in the kitchen" situation going on. I think because of the apparent lack of clear vision, they're listening to too many different ideas and not executing on any of them in a timely manner.

give a few people the reigns in fw the way they gave chris total control of balance. having someone who is constantly in charge of reviewing data and looking for the root causes of problems would be ideal. maybe add a guy (i vote the bearded wonder bombadil from ngng cause he knows his ****) who knows the lore like the back of his hand, and can see the ways to integrate the details from the existing universe into the game in non game-breaking and immersive ways.

So they already owe me a ton more development effort in making the mode better and live up to its potential.
And there's no way in the world I will pay them more to deliver what I already bought.

The fact of the matter is we (the community) have been paying subscription, via mechpacks, since 2013. Back then Faction Play or CW back then, was promised and being "developed". The issue here is what Russ promised and what Russ delivered were literally the polar opposites.
Russ has tried to "band-aid" fix it with FP3 and QP4.1 but all that has done is actually drive players away, again, having the opposite effect because Russ has no farken clue what FP should be or what the community wants from it (which, basically, is what he promised in 2013).
So sorry to say, a subscription for FP? You've gotta be kidding.
Given the repeated failures, patches, horrific balancing etc... I cancelled all my pre-orders and will not be spending another cent. While I enjoy MWO more than most games I've played over the past 15 odd years (mainly due to the community), it only goes so far after hundreds of $$$.

But hey, if you're looking for a way to drive to big units from the game, here's your solution.
I thought we were just complaining about the lack of numbers in Faction Warfare?
But let's call this like it is: this idea is a subliminal suggestion of driving units away from Faction Warfare to 'level the playing field.'
Ain't happening.

Russ's twitter announcement regarding "wanting input on the future direction of the game's development" had nothing to do with development at all, but instead had to do with wanting to get people to buy into getting
