So a the other day I had a pretty hilarious game. I died about half way through the match in my Viper and spent the end of the game spectating. It came down to two lights on my team vs 1 King Crab on the enemy team. They squirrel him for a bit, the 1 cERPPC Mist Lynx manages to get the KGC's back CT red, but gave up his position kind of stupidly and wasn't able to finish him. The KGC has 2 gauss, 3 ERLL and knocks off one of the lights. The Mist Lynx is pop tarting back and forth, but not very well and gets legged. Next he walks out into the open, because why wouldn't you when you're legged, and gets his 1 PPC shot off. So he twists and turns back and forth, waiting for his inevitable doom, then the KGC suddenly explodes from overheating, his CT already having been red from back shots. I almost pissed myself laughing. The King Crab overheated against a legged, weaponless Mist Lynx. And this was after the Mist Lynx practically donated him the win by getting legged, walking out into the open after being legged, and then losing his only weapon while being out in the open.

Obviously when running hot and badly damaged you should finish the harmless light with your ERLLas vomit, not your gauss.

When you're not confident in your gauss aim, but it's gotta be pretty bad if you can't hit a legged Mist Lynx.

I thought this post was going to provide deep insight into the idea that if you get too used to farming potatoes, you will start to develop potato-ish aspects of your own, being that you have relied on bad player behaviour to farm score. But its just another "potato did X" topic :(

Probably he was in the habit of shooting those weapons in a certain order. Sometimes people are not very flexible in this game, as shown by their two reactions to the enemy, (1) I don't know or care that I am being shot right now; or (2) I have been launched at a target and cannot be recalled like the Dr. Strangelove strategic bombers.

I remember spectating King Crab trying to hit a Light mech in the open while the Light mech was spreading its damage all over the Crab with its MLs. It took about three minutes until the dance ended. Potatoes are funny.

well few days ago i witness a Cauldron Born with 7CML and single CLRM 15 - he was shooting only LRM without even once firing lasers. Whole match was 7min long and he was our last man standing - poor soul scored 10 damage points - than it was over - we lost

And some that I swear must be playing with 20 FOV with the way they miss obvious targets walking right by them, tunnel vision.
