I hope you aren't bringing an XL in that Roughneck...

It can - super tanky, spreads well, but not needed. Especially in 1 v 1 where 5 kph doesn't matter.

However it's a mech that gains from LFE, that's for sure.

It can, but the slab-sides of its upper mounts catch a lot of fire. It is, ironically for its more humanoid shape, a front-forward 'Mech because turning a flank gives the enemy a nice big square to shoot at that isn't shielded by the arm. Which is why it gets the quirks.

which isn't bad though because it's how you spread. It twists well and it's almost impossible to pick the opposite torso. The flanges in the middle catch the fire and spread st to CT.

So it's like cooking a steak. You flip sides to get armor cooked on both sides and stare.

You also twist and look UP, which pulls the SRMs up to help the st.

It's not a bad mech to run an XL with but with a STD (LFE) it's hard to kill.

I'm referring mostly to the RGH-3A. It and the 1C are the only ones to write home about, and only the first of them would I say go XL on. On the 3A, it's actually pretty easy to focus a single side because the side is large and because he can't shield it if he wants to shoot back at you. Just wait for him to do so; no well-cooked stake, only a single side done over. It's the same weakness the HBK-IIC has, really, but exacerbated by isXL. LFE will help. LFE helps the 1C more, though, since it'll be able to get to the brawl faster.

The RGH-3A with XL is a good line 'Mech. Use it like a fat HBK-IIC and it does great things. Go toe-to-toe with fatter 'Mechs and it gets crushed.

i'd have to say my jenners and other locusts. They all got skilled to as close to pre skill tree as possible. I've had games any where from a low of 150 to 828 damage and 2-4 kills. i've made the lct 3s into a little sml narc monster provided it gets the luck of a lrm boat or two in a match. The best reaction I've had from it in solo q was 'oh crap it's that crazy locust pilot again!' from some one who was in the last match with me.

Out of the ravens I've seen the boom bird ac 20 4x a few times but its almost always a 3l. 2x is mia and huggin is a myth. srm 2 only oxide and the clan version do ok yet. Switched to lrm 5s on the cjenner one and had a cada pilot go ape sheet in chat because he was the only one to die, and by lrms so he just had to be a lrm hater as well.

timberwolfs I see a few laser ones and some mix of ac/ppc. I have the s set up as a clrm 10 x4 spamer with sml back up decked out in black and white square aptly named 'Alpine.' Mixed results with it as I had to nearly max out mobility since It had yaw and torso neg quirks. Rest of points went into sensors and cool down plus one uav.

It stomps fatter mechs by poking. I can put 100 pts of laservomit on 1 point on an Onion 2C before it's in splat range. I duel with it a lot - most of KCom enjoys the 1 v 1 and the Roughneck is my go to. I can consistently rock any heavy and even a MAD IIC depending on the map - dem cockpit high hardpoints.

The 3A is my best carry mech. Actually running a 1.67 win/loss in solo QP. Far and away it's my best mech for winning matches, QP or FW. I consistently beat much better players in that mech. Just such a great poke mech.

Oh no you didn't.

It's on.

Roughneck is Bestneck. All heretics please form an orderly queue to be purged. At work for probably another 10 hours today but I'll be around at sane hours tomorrow and the day after. Will find you and show you the meaning of Rough Love.

This is a fight I would want to watch. Please record/ stream it. and I would like to see a rematch post new tech.

I would go with Jagermech and Highlands for what I personally run, Unfortunately the Heavy Metal is still a hot mess. Hopefully the new tech will help with that (If they can fix all the placement bugs on the thing) once the 732B goes on sale I'll be picking that up as well. I almost want to add the Urbanmech, but Im not sure if its fooling anybody any more on being a joke (its not).

New found love for the Enforcer 5P, Wolverine 6R, Awesome Pretty Baby post Skill Tree.

Enforcer 5P with reduce UAC Jam, Cooldown, Velocity nodes have been performing consistently for me.
Raking in 600+ damage in most games.

Wolverine 6R with dual AC5, and Cooldown node.
Pumping out 10 damage up to 700m about every 1 second, or half second dakka on chain fire.

Awesome PB, pick up more Skeleton Density node on top its Structure Quirks, now it is quite safe to run XL and brawl in a Pretty Baby. Currently running dual LPL, twin SRM6A and a LRM15A for early range.
