I play reasonably regularly and I have not seen it until just now, I had totally forgotten and blocked out the ill advised fantasy mech and was gone when it was released, but thats been a good long while. Did everyone really hate it that much?

No, there were a good number around near release. I've read mostly good things and look forward to picking up 2-4 of them, once they drop for C-Bills.

Im in AFO Phantom and I would say half our guys run the Roughneck.

It is an awesome mech and now my favorite heavy to play. Also it is 100% canon now.

It's a nice mech, both lore-wise (even if made by PGI) and loadout/geometry wise. I would like to pick one up soon, with new tech it even becomes more exciting to try out <3

It is not 100% canon, who told you this? It is not a canon mech in the battlemech universe, but if you're implying it's canon in the MWO universe, yes, it is.

The roughneck owns. Its one of the best heavy mechs in the game. Mostly because it just wont die.

I think the total number of 'mechs is just getting quite big in the game. It means lots of them you don't see very often, though they remain reasonably popular.

Half the field is typically the flavour of the month, leaves few spots for the other ...300? ... mechs we have.

I could be wrong but from the forums on here and the Battle tech games forums I would post how it was not canon and got repeatedly told it was canon by Catalyst.

If anyone is looking to run a roughneck lance hit me up and Ill show you some builds.

That is very true it is extremely tanky.
My hope is it is in MW5 as it was put into production in 3050 and MW5 goes till around 3051 :)

Huh, mind linking me a few to read if you can? More out of curiosity than anything honestly. I read up on the Sarna Wiki that it's not Canon, and the fact that there's no novel that ever mentioned the mech until PGI made it.

Another mech I forgot existed (in game) was the Vindicator. I cant recall the last time I saw it in the wild.

PGI made it up, and Catalyst honorarily cannonized it as official BattleTech Universe content
