So when looking for when the qualifier ends... I noticed that the word on the patch-notes for June 20th changed.

The participation of the MechWarrior Online competitive community in the Competitive Play feature from now until August 1st 2017 at 6:59 AM UTC will be used to determine seeding for the MechWarrior Online World Championship Semi-Finals.
At that time, the top 12 eligible Teams from the global Competitive Play Leaderboards - according to their Team Score Ranking (TSR) - will transition to the dedicated MechWarrior Online Tournament Build to begin the Semi-Final phase of the 2017 MechWarrior Online World Championships. That Semi-Final phase is currently planned to begin on a to-be-announced date in September.
With the use of the new global Competitive Leaderboards for seeding into the Semi-Finals, the finalist Teams are no longer distributed per-Region. In other words, the top 12 Teams will be the top-ranked Competitive MechWarrior Online Teams overall, regardless of Region.


I thought that roster locks were to end on August 1st, not the qualifier. PGI clarification please?

Except it talks about ROSTER and REGION locks, not the end of the qualifier and start of the regional finals. "This message is a notice to all Competitive Teams, participants, and potential participants that the Team Roster & Region Editing Deadline, originally set for August 25th at 6:59 AM UTC, has been moved up to August 1st at 6:59 AM UTC."

"As a result, this Deadline adjustment is extending the period of time over which the Qualifying Phase requires Team Roster and Region selections to be fully locked-in."

This statement contradicts what is currently being shown. Aug 25 to Aug 1 is not an extension.

If so, does Regional Finals begin 2 weeks into August? Or is it still 1 week of September? I question this as there is NO MENTION of this in the July 11th Press Release.

Apologies for the confusion here; this was an error on my part when updating the formation date in the Patch notes. Qualifying phase is still set to end at the original time. I've fixed that section of the notes.

Before the seeding phase ended August 25th. As per the website that went live today, it says September 15th? Also are we doing away with the two week break in between the qualifier and semi-finals?

That chart you attached is the current schedule. There is no 2 week break. The only break that happens is when the top 3 teams are identified via the bracketed Semi-Finals. From the end of the bracket until MechCon (Oct 7 - Dec 8 as of this writing), there are no games played in relation to the Finals. Teams that did not make the top 12, are more than welcome to continue playing throughout the entire season as they will be competing for the prizes listed outside of the top 12.

technically never, the comp queue is only being used to seed the top 12. It will continue to play out after Sept 15th.
