With the nerfing of CPL, CML, CPPC, PPC GAUSS ghost heat and the introduction of weapons like , UAC20'S, STREAKS, HVY GAUSS, HVY MG'S, MICRO LSR, MRM' and light fusion engines, I just wonder if all we are going to see is a brawl fest now.

What place will range decks have? What weapons can be used to counteract the "W" push?

Will MWO just become W Online?

What is your prediction for gameplay going forward from tommorrows patch?

first week will be mixed,
many will complain X Y or Z is too Strong,
many will complain that their teams are Potatos,

mostly most people will be trying new builds and testing things out,
after the first week we will know what the Meta is, and what is most effective,
likely things will mesh and relax at that point,

If the game actually becomes more brawl-y I would not consider that a bad thing. Game is still a little too sniper-y for my taste.

Its hard to say since people will always veer towards the best optimal set up. Some smart person had a technical term thats it natural for anyone competeting in a game to do the best move or the most effective strategy to be dominate. It seens they balancing is a behind the current times 2 or 3 months. For example i feel inner sphere laser vomit is stronger than clan right now due to low cooldowns and duration. Most fighting takes place from 200 to 500 meters reguardless of current meta.

What i do disagee with is making balancing changes based on a small percentage of the population in the pts in 4 vs 4 non match maker even game skill level gameplay. Honestly its one thing I noticed when we were running group q last night. We were doing drop themes and weapons. For example one drop we used ultra 2s. Some we used srms. No matter what we did though unless we were met with equal resistance we rolled them.

Point is good pilots will always beat bad pilots.. no amount of balancing or changes will stop teamwork from being op.

The game needs brawl to come back.

I'm bored of fitting lasers,gauss and ppcs to everything I have. It's just no fun.

Brawling means I can be in your face trading paint and brawling like giant 50 ton machines of war should do.

Don't get me wrong,i think you'll still see a lot of sniping,because some mechs are really good at it(Ebon-Jag,Marauder,Cataphract etc) and now brawlers get some more options to play with.

I know all my Urbies are getting HMGS

ERLL and ERPPC were just buffed for IS, MRMs will open options up in the 300-450 range, the LB2 and LB5 have longer effective ranges than their regular counterparts with a reasonable spread, and the heavy PPC is viable.

So no, from an IS point of view, it won't be all brawl. Your mileage may vary.
