I love the Uziel, I believe it is my favourite chassis of the game. But this one in the animation... it's perfection! This is Michelangelo designing mechs. I am praying to whatever god might be out there, if there's any and hope PGI will take in consideration this animation for their Uziel model in MW5.

Uziel in 3015?

Luckily it won't.....

meh...
I bought one, with c-bills, maybe MC, dont recall.
I was expecting performance on par with my Crabs, but its not a tanky skirmisher in the vein of a Crab.
Since I dont really care as much about modeling or animations as performance, I wouldnt call it a bad mech, but it doesnt fit my play style.

Wow, this was a pretty old thread getting necro’ed. Kind of appropriate considering what I did two nights ago. After putting zero time into the three from the preorder base pack that got delivered to my account, I sold all of them. I finally realized they were never going to get quirks that make them any more viable than others I had. Mostly because one person, who seems to do really well with any mech and also has been spending time defending every mech recently released/announced, declared all variants of them fine after saying he took the laser vomit one in solo queue for a month and did well with it.

Well regardless of how MEH you believe Uziel to be , there are worse mechpacks out there .

Uziel 6P is a monster.

It is one of the best medium mechs in the game.

Doesnt even need any buffs. Its kinda op already.

As I said, when it was first talked about... In the hands of the right kind of pilot (player) it will be decent, for the average pilot (player) it'll be a dumpster fire. The only source material that refers to the Uziel as good is one line from MW4, all the rest refer to it as "unwanted", "average" or "mediocre". The geometry of the unit was not going to be favorable, and I had said as much... I also said "To everyone that wants it, I hope you enjoy it and play it for longer than it takes to master it."

In the end, if you are happy with it, great. If not, maybe do a bit of reading on the history and lore of the units you want to see in game, to get an idea of how they are seen in the lore and TT game, to get an idea of what they will likely be like in MWO.

Except that's not entirely true either. A number of mechs in game function or excel outside of their lore given roles or characteristics.
Atlas is severely trumped by the Anni.
Direwolf is not king, far from it.
For a while the Kdk was definitely not a second line mech.
Try not over heating with a single Ebon Jaguar lore build.
The Quickdraw is the MRM masterpiece.
Clan mechs have to vomit lasers to be considered "good".
Artemis is in a weird place.
Urbanmechs lol.

Etc etc.

ive been noticing that for Clan its not that good for the weight/crits.. for IS it turns them into a tight group shotgun.

Yes and no..

The Anni burtally murders the Atlas in actual TT play, it is one of the best mid range area denial mechs out there thanks to quad AC/10's.

The Dire Wolf is a beast if you get in it's firing lane, just like it is here.

The Kodiak is a brutal beast, that well and truly has no busniess being a second line mech. (well all second line mechs in TT are razor optimized out of the box)

The Ebon Jag has always run hot.

The Quickdraw has always been solid.

A bad Clan mech is still better than an average IS mech in most cases

Artemis has always been in an odd place

Urbanmechs are monsters in a city.

Uziel could do with quirks to make it competitive with the Nova, which beats it in every category except speed cap and high mounts.

If using those two strong points effectively though, its a pretty decent mech.

People tend to play it like they do every other mech: tanking shots to the face while they shoot back in the enemies general direction.

Uziel-6P is a lighter but more mobile GRF-1E. The higher mobility is noticeable, the GRF feels like a bus in contrast.

The UZL is slightly less tanky because of no shielding arms like the GRF-1E, but GRF-1E looses alot of fire power by arm tanking.

I tried several builds (2 LPL, 4 ERML - 3 ERLL + 3 ERML - 6 MPL) and all performed well. Its surprisingly solid medium mech, maybe not the best, but Tier 3 at least.

However, what is really unacceptable are the slender legs and "where is the next toilet?"-stance. For somebody who was a Uziel fan in MW4 it's a pain.

It could be much better, if legs would be thicker - that would overall reduce the size because of volumetric scaling.

PLEASE FIX THIS!

Well its too bad you can't gift mechs or I would offer to take all the uziels you guys don't want.
Of course maybe the reason I love mine so much is because it was free........

But am I the only person that actually loves the way the Mwo Uziel looks?

Personally I dislike Uziel's low mounted cockpit, but luckily that's of no issue in Solaris, which I use it in.
