MWO is a nice FPS but still lacking in real customization I don't need 1000 mechs I surely know other people feel the same way.

I want to have skills that matter in this game the current Skill point system ain't good enough we need custom builds.
Example Tweaking Engine, Weapon, Reactor, Internal computer, Special mech software, Armor adjustment, Weapon layouts, AMS placements that's real customization.

for people like me that own only 5 mechs MWO do not have a lot to offer at this current moment just saying

Well, we've got most of that, so I cannot fully understand what you're missing.

Tweaking Engine... Engines can be replaced, XL or STD, and there's various speed tweeks in the skilltree.
Weapon... can be switched and changed as you please, can also be tweaked with the skill tree.
Reactor... Why? It's not like we have to maintain power. Well, we've got heatsinks which is somewhat of a reactor tweek.
Internal computer... Well, there's targeting computers
Special Mech software... I see many skills as upgraded or special software.
Armor Adjustment... Do you even use mechlab?
Weapon layouts... Like saving presets? That I do miss.
Ams placement... Meh, no biggie.

As I said in the list ... do you even use mechlab?

No Tweaking a Engine not swamping out a engine block, etc
You know like a car adding more fuel to the cylinders, adding laughgas, etc.
real Tweaking not changing some basic stuff

to the OP, do you realize, compared to other games, the amount of customization you can do in MWO?:

Armor values, Armor type, Sensors, Equipment, weapons, Ammo, IS or Clan tech, Engine sizes, Engine Types, Consumables, Heat Sinks, Heat Sink types, Structure Types, Missile Guidance systems, and placement of almost all of the above...also, Camo Patterns, Colors, Standing/Hanging/Mounted cockpit items, Warhorns...also, a couple hundred skill nodes.

Another complaint thread? How about you grateful for the customization available, many of which have been added over time and more will be added (in just 2 days).

It's a freaking fusion reactor, what is it that you think you're going to do to it?

I'm with Radbane we already have a good enough level of customization. People complain about the steep learning curve as it is. Don't think we really need more customization. We don't need customization on top of the already existing customization.

I remember they did something like that in Armored Core. I think it was Nexus. That game already had a fairly extensive level of customization. But they made it so you could tweak the stats of every single component. It got really tedious and wasn't that fun. I like to play the mechlab, but not to the point where every part needs to have it's own customization.

... but that's changing the engine, engine type, heatsinks, etc. It's the same thing.

In theory you can have better Magnetic fields which can allow for better fusion of helium, or more heavy nuclei for more power.
Just one example to add more tweaking skills ingame

Why not just stick with hydrogen? It's plentiful. Also, I'm no nuclear physicist, but doesn't fusion generate less power as you use heavier atoms?

no A sun do not have enough pressure to fuse heavy elements lets say into dark matter (Pure speculation might be something less heavy)

Magnetic field tinkering is the distinction between STD, Compact, Light, Extra Light and Extra Extra Light Fusion Engines.

"Better Fusion" - please explain.
"Heavier nuclei" - so, diifferent elements, which means, worse fusion, as Helium only fuses as it does because it's small.

I like amount of things you can customize and the skill tree, but I wish the the process felt like you were working on your mech. The UI is fast in some respects, by very bland.

THe ultimate would be able to adjust your mech like we do now (the fast way), then a mechbay view were you would see the weapons added. Skill points could have some type of animation.

But that will never happen.

I like the armored core level of customization that the OP provides, but sadly PGI has just finally managed to get 3 year old tech balanced, so im scared of adding extra layers of options.

These forums are something else, eh?

For every post you have about MWO departing too much from TT, with way too much customization, you have a post like this.

"I need to put NOZ and spinners on my mek!"

This is funny, because we don't even know what dark matter is, nor where it comes from. Hence the term "dark". As in, "We're in the dark on what's causing this." We don't even know if dark matter even exits at all, it could be some unknown property of the fabric of space-time itself for all we know.

But isn't that what the MECH Skill Tree does though? Just about everything the OP wants is what the Skill Tree provides. Tinker with the weaponry to get extra range out of and allow faster firing, shore up the armor and internal structure, enhance the mech speed, stopping abilities and acceleration capabilities..

What can NOT be changed is hardpoint location, the number of hardpoints (omnipods) and we sure the frak can not raise a mech's arm to fire its weaponry from a more advantageous elevation.

engine=reactor

though mechs can operate without fusion reactor.

they instead put gasoline fueled generator internal combustion engine.
