Now we have light BAP, this handy device will make ECM even less relevant for half the tonnage of BAP. Now I could make a post about that exclusively and I think I will but what I really want to talk about now is the Mist Lynx's locked BAP.


I do not care if it had a locked BAP in lore, there are a lot of things that changed for better game play.

• The MLX has huge arms
  
• The MLX isn't very fast
  
• The MLX is only 25 tons
  
• The MLX can only bring ECM if it gives up essential energy hardpoints.

It has a lot of down sides and this is just another nail in the coffin.



Can we please have an additional DHS instead of a BAP? Please? I don't care if it is a locked DHS.

I agree. Would love to be able to add a DHS in the place of the BAP.

Only thing needed are armor quirks on the arms that dont have them atm.

Yet I can barely use those 4 E points because I can only fit 1 DHS.

Those do 2 damage and the MLX isn't as fast as a locust and can't reliably get around and behind all mechs.

11 damage from 4 Micro lasers isn't enough to scratch the paint on the back of an assault.

It's what PGI fantasizes as the "DPS Pulse Laser" but can't quite seem to make a reality.

Actual it was more trying to crit out the weapons of the snv, while the kdk3 was out of ammo, that made the most damage. 2 ersml take ages to do something. Already changed it for 2 heavy small lasers, eager to look how it perfoms now.

I've been so far playing only with Mist Lynx, about 5-10 games. I tried to convert my 2ERL into 2HLL but I was only getting similiar results. Im now trying 2HML which might be workable unlike 2ERM.

I've always thought it's a nice feature to have fixed CAP, and not agreed on it's removal. But considering the introduction of light CAP, maybe it could be changed to it.


And remember new cbill pods coming. This page is a ***** to find as you have to shift through a huge pile of annousments before you find it.

So I think any balance adjustments for Mist Lynx is quite natural to be done after the new pods, if necessarily. Mist Lynx will get 4 energy hardpoints with ECM,(two hand two ST) or dropping the ECM will allow it to have 4+4 ballistic hands for MGs. The RT will likely have it's limitation of 2 slots so no 4 HML with ECM, but 2 HML and 2ERM is pretty nice addition I think.

In fact I think the most cutest sollution is that the new pods also move 2 fixed armor slots from the RT to legs, so that 4HML would be possible.

The point is that about 1/8th of the Mech's equipment tonnage is locked by a near-useless item.
The hero pods won't change that.
And even if they did in some magical way, it cannot be that a whole chassis could only become un-screwed by buying a hero Mech.

It's so funny that even for the clearest, most obvious problems, there's always someone crawling out from somewhere and argueing completely beside the point that everything was fine.
And mostly, those people use degenerate grammar mistakes like "r" and "u".

With new Omnipods i was thinking about a Mist Lynx with ECM + 3x Heavy SL + 4x HMG.

I think it will be a good and stealthy little back stabber !
