So I had pretty much all of my 46 mechs fully trained, a lot of time was put into that.
Now i have to transfer xp and PAY a gassilion ammount of c-bills to train them again?!

If i would want to train 1 mech it would cost me 4-5million, My whole stash atm is 5 million.. so I would be able to play with 1 mech instead of my 46 for who knows how long.

If this is how its suppost to work, might aswell quit the game for good.

What? Did you not play since the skill "tree" was added or something? If so you should have historical SP (click the Add SP button)... if not, what do you mean?

Go to select mech - skills, top rightish there is add sp. Any mech that was mastered before will have 91hsp for every copy of that mech you owned, so if you owned 1 Hunchback 4p you will have 91hsp, if owned 2 then 182. Transfer 91hsp over and that will give you enough to fully "master" that mech once.
If you want to change things around or level new mechs you can also use the gsp which you would have got if you had modules bought before December 2016. And if you are like a lot of other people that had a bunch of modules you will have more gsp than you could possibly use. If not and you don't have much gsp then new mechs or changing what 91 skill points you use then yeah you will have to use xp and cbills.

ok, i was jumping to conclusions a bit to hasty, can anyone blame me? :)
Yes iv not played in a while, but i keep comming back just seem to take longer each time, but this is my fps i tend to play, generally just play strategy games.

I just didnt see there was a free tab. I guess i will read that guide, so i dont move more points than I should. I understand I can move the 91 but not sure about the "general" skillpoints i could move too

What Mecha said.

Use your HSP exclusively for the variants you had before the skills tree dropped. If you had duplicate mechs mastered you should have 91 x X for that variant (where X is the number of duplicates).

GSP is the consequence of the refund policy that PGI instituted regarding your modules. If you had a boat load of them before the skills tree, then you ought to have a boat load of GSP now. Use the GSP for insta-leveling new mechs that you have bought since the skills tree or as a consequence of respecing or whatever. The point being that HSP can ONLY be applied to variants you had before, whereas GSP can be applied to any.

Good luck.

Well thanks for the quick response, now since i technically can respec quite a bit before i run out of points(2.5k general sp) I am no longer so negative about it.

It will be seriously hard to find the right skill tree for the right mech just.

For instance I tried out my favorit shadowhawk and did quite a bit less damage than I used to. Sure im super rusty and i got like one of the 2 kills of my team lol but that build is pretty shotgun, read real easy to hit with and I lasted a long time with lot of shooting done.

I assume its all the modules gone. not sure how to make up for that or if the setup is no longer viable., .

All module effects still exist, split between;
Firepower - Range & Cooldown
Survival - AMS Overload & Shock Absorbance
Operations - Speed Retention, Improved Gyros & Hill Climb
Sensors - Target Info Gathering, Target Decay, Sensor Range, Advanced Zoom, Target Retention, Seismic Sensor & Radar Deprivation
Auxiliary - Capture Assist & Enhanced NARC

My very brief guide to the skills tree:

Forget the old "skills". The "tree" is about playing the percentages and min/max accordingly. Very generally speaking:
Screw operations and jumpjets, and unless you are going to go for extras cooldowns or arty strikes 1 point on auxiliary is fine. Left side of sensors gets you 1 seismic and 60% derp for a reasonable investment. Everything else should be about prioritizing survival and firepower, and then mobility; 21 points for full speed tweek probably isn't worth it for a lot of mechs, but don't neglect torso speed for those mechs that rely on the alpha/twist play style.
