The launch times are long but I can take an easy guess on why.
All mechs are lovely and nimble (even Assaults !). The new tech is great, loving the flexibility, and cooling never seems to be an issue. I vowed not to play any IS mechs until the new tech arrived and I am glad I didnt waste SPs along the way. My Pirates bane is finally kicking *** !
I don't think I'll be swapping back for a while. I really feel the force is strong with this side for sure. Seeing the FW stomp bar all the way to IS each day doesn't surprise me in the least.
This isn't aimed as a trigger or troll post but I still feel PGI's missing the balance. Can't they just get it over and done with and make the tech shared?
Or the business objective to present a deliberate difference to get people to buy more?

For me it looks like the main problem with balance, or rather imbalance, is that PGI tries to go with the lore/timeline and they keep strictly to.
That's the main problem. I wonder what will we get with the next timeline stop? After Civil War ther is not much of a technoligical progress. Only few new weapons and they are rather experimental ones. Only new mechs.
Best Regards.

And it is not counting dramatic drop in FPS (yes I know about XBOX crap=I erased it completely) after last 2 updates. (10 during ST and another 5 now). It is from 30-40 fps before to the meager 18-21 now.

I was having weird issues with heat, not dropdecks. I finally ran the repair tool and cleared caches. While I did not find any problems, my heat issues suddenly disappeared..

1) Because of all the new toys alot of players went IS so I suspect there is now a population/talent imbalance shift to IS... This *might* be temporary.
2) New tactics and Metas are being developed, lets see if clan learns to counter the IS upgraded tech.
3) Since Guass/PPC too a hit, its a double whammy for many CLAN PPFLD players to riddle out.
I've no doubt that if the population evens out, and players get their heads wrapped around what new tech they have (heavy lazors + IS potatoes = Sphere Fries!), and things will potentially level out again.
After a few weeks I would suspect a lot of IS mechs will lose quirks and FP tonnage will get closer to even if not exactly even.
If things are reasonably balanced tech wise, I would have absolutely no problem with that.

This isn't a business objective, it's just how PGI does things. Well, actually it is, but it's aimed at giving the lore-purists a reason to continue playing their game (not necessarily buying both IS and Clan mechs).
Actually, having suffered through the horrendous game-balance that was the Clans (and the fact that it took forever to fix), and the almost-as-bad game-balance that was the initial release of quirks, this...hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be.

What new players?
Even though I had played this game for mb 2 hours a couple years ago and quit from the stupid mech grind the game had. I consider myself new since I came back last month after they dropped that dumb mech grind tree that drove me away.

Yup. IS got new toys and many people went IS, but I think PGI has data that can filter that out. LFE and light ferro are game changers for the IS, and combine that with a dual 90+ tonner deck and GG clanners. Clanners also need to figure out something beside PPC/gauss
I hope they truly iterate on changes. Cutting IS tonnage is a good start. Let that play for a couple weeks then maybe look at quirks or weapon adjustments. Let's avoid any more wild swings after months of doing nothing and keep with small changes every 2 weeks. It's nice to have a bunch of old mechs back out on the field and doing well. I like the overall variety of mechs on the field (and I like that people don't think that stupid old mech is much of a threat since it hasn't been meta in years...)

In invasion mode, even a slight change would probably be substantial. Any change in tonnage limits there should be a step-wise progression in 5t increments. I agree with Tin Man, other changes should be small, and not come in huge swings all at once.

Stats were not reset, they are totally out of sync for current situation. Why PGI chose to do this complete mystery.
If one has to guess, main difference currently comes from two sources:
- IS pugs > Clan pugs (non-organized drops) , because new tech and old quirks.
- Well above average players and team can exploit IS strengths even more, to the extent they can roll over Clan 12 mans at will.

Our toys wern't new enough. I'm still waiting for X-Pulse Lasers, Multi-Missile Launchers, and PPC Capacitor. Once IS receive those items THAN Clan & IS tech will be even.

I've opened nearly 100 of them, and the best stuff I've ever won was a 3 day premium time and I think 3 mech bays. Other good prizes were stuff I didn't want that I could sell for good money, like engines and modules when those existed.
In my perception, the prizes in the supply caches have been significantly downgraded in value, and are even more suspect than before. At least in the past, there was a supply cache (the one that offered a Centurion) that included several desirable prizes, and seemed to offer higher odds of winning them. (7day premium, centurion, 50mc, mech bay and yard sale warhorn were all in same cache)
These days, the supply caches are full of worthless crap like cheap weapons, decals that you can't even trade, let alone sell (why are we even supposed to want decals on our mechs? Thanks to the limitations of the graphics engine, the only place you can see them well is in the mechlab anyways).
The real slap in the face is some of them even have 'loser' prizes, like "winning" $40k (less than the $50k you can sell the cache for without blowing 25mc on a key). Another even has the gall to offer one supply cache key as a prize. "Win" that one, and you spent 25mc on a key to lose the $50k.
Other games have similar prize caches, and either players don't have to pay anything to open them, (though they can pay to buy them) or you pay to open it, but the caches have a countdown to guarantee a good prize if you keep getting lesser prizes.
well I won a Jagger a Zeus and a KitFox opening just less than 80 caches.
But... you have to be selective I only opened 80 caches of the 200 I have received.
For best results look at the 2 common items if neither is worth more than CB50.000 then sell it and move on to the next.
I wouldn't like too see caches as luck dip prizes despite my relative success in mech finds

Too bad... when the heat bar jams at 100%, the heat damage stops occurring even if you keep alpha striking as long as you don't have the override activated.

Last time some dude made this picture:
Even though I never got to the "pick a color" tier it was still super useful and informative. Is there anything like that for the current event?
Go into mechlab and in the warehouse to the right select [colours] and then select your preferred faction in the drop-down menu
