INN editorial from the pen of a Wolfs Dragoons officer.

Instead of spending time attempting to understand warriors you've never met and broadcasting it in tabloids as truth, you should put your efforts into improving your lot. If our technology is so superior, it because we honor our techs, scientists, and bondsman. Those who argue that we take slaves, should reconsider when they see those same 'slaves' tear apart their former units in mechs that they obviously deserved but weren't given the chance to possess. We do not waste lives by sending nobles and laborers to learn to pilot mechs as if it were a hobby. Our mechwarriors have been trained from childhood to be who they are now. If they were not meant to be mechwarriors, we found another useful place for them in our ranks where their talents would be most beneficial. Our ranking system is not based off of political maneuvering and old age. Every one of our mechwarriors earns their ranks, and if they cannot lead, another has the right to challenge them and take their place. This is not barbaric, this is discipline. It is not a disgrace to lose rank. It is a disgrace to keep incompitent stravag - that is, inferiors - in a position where they would lead all to their death by their lack of forsight.
As for your claims that we are related to COMSTAR; might I point out that they do not waste their materials and resources attempting to create sprawling, inefficient, decadent empires as the 'great houses' have been exemplifying through waste of resources, technology, and their future for CENTURIES. COMSTAR claims their domain to be knowledge and the continuation of intersteller communication. In this capacity, they have been exemplary. The fact that they are creating garrisons around all their facilities only shows that they know they cannot trust the shortsighted people of the inner sphere from challenging their claim to ancient and new technology. Note that they have fielded battlemechs of different patterns than the great houses have. Even when a new battlemech is created and seen for the first time by a house, it is not considered alien. Why is it only Wolf's Dragoons that are accused of being aliens? Your superstitions obviously blind you from the truth. The truth is that we reflect what you could be if you would reorganize your society into one dedicated to ideals instead of illusions of power, politics, and religion.
Until you understand what I have said, you will continue to fall beneath the treads of Wolf's Dragoons. Perhaps the houses should look to us for inspiration and example. Neg. I am certain this will fall upon deaf ears as our example on the battlefield blinds our opponents to their own failures time and time again. The question I must ask is: What if there were an entire society that functioned similar to our small collection of warriors? I would guess that all the houses together would not be able to stop them. Think on that while you pick through the remains of the once great Star League and consider rebuilding it instead of carrying on the petty conflicts of nobles who have created seas of ash from promise and potential. ~ Seyla
Right... Whatever a Bondsman is. If you want POWs playing with your tech, that's your business, I personally find it unreiable as it may lead to random internal ammo explosions. I didnt spend the past 35 years in the biz to suddenly go picking up faith that there is some 'common good' in the galaxy. Business would slow down to a crawl and we'd both be out of work. As far as your toys go, I really cant argue with the results, but if you think they are some kind of earned blessing, then you've proven one thing, you're dangerously fanatical about your make-believe version of the galaxy.
Man's worth is set by the work of his brow, and I'd be damned if I listen to one word of someone questioning my ability in a mech. You want to talk about unification and a better way of life, makes ya no different than any of the other successor states, because they all believe the have 'the right way' to do things. Hell, that's what makes this business so lucrative. And hey, if you want to go around convering the entire Inner Sphere to your exempt 'way of life', have at 'er. Just means more c-bills lining my pocket.
As far as idealism against power and influence, sorry, but it's gonna be human nature to grab the power and influence over an ideal, and those that do otherwise typically are the gulable crazies. Though they do make for great expendable troops, and anything that stops me from paying more repair bills by drawing fire away from my mech is good by me.
You guys got the guns and the c-bills to make your own rules. Like I said before, that's fine, in the end we're all mercs looking for a pay-day, and if ya think your rules somehow bring you up to a higher standard and make you sleep better at night, then go for it, but dont take a leak on me and tell me it's raining. You take your paychecks, you do the job, you go home. That I respect. But dont go shooting your mouth off on how you think putting a kid in a simulator for hours a day stripping him of a childhood is gonna make him a better mechwarrior. All ya did was take away his childhood. And they call me cold.
It's your business on how you decide to run things, but remember, we're ALL lookin to get paid.
((Really nice responce, except for the bondsman mention and the clan-dialect. Wolfs Dragoons are suppost to be undercover, and trying to blend in. I think the boasting and trying to bring the clan way of life in this time frame may be a bit much. But still nice responce
