So I really hate how everything that the skill tree adds get put into the quirk list. I dont care that ammo capacity on AC 10s is +5 and ammo capacity on gauss is +2 or whatever, i dont have those guns on the mech.

After any mech is remastered the quirk list becomes so long you cant see everything. I just want to see the original quirks on the mech because i know what the skill tree adds i bought those nodes, and if i ever forget i can look at it again. The lengthened quirk lists do the opposite of what they are supposed to do. I get its supposed to have all info in one place but when you cant see it all it ends up hiding the info I'm actually looking for.

Anyone else getting increasingly irritated with this little nitpick or just me?

Gotta agree, I think they could reduce the quirk list back to the original mech quirks without taking away information from the mechlab.

I mean:
Weapon modifiers (cooldown, heat, range etc.) are displayed in the weapon tooltip.
Armor bonuses are displayed on their respective component (structure doesn't do the same though).
The top speed after speed tweak is displayed on the engine itself.
Even new ammo capacity after the corresponding skilltree nodes is displayed on the ammo tooltip.

So to keep things more easily accessible, I too would love to see the quirk list returning to be a quirk list. Maybe add mobility and defensive bonuses from the skilltree to it, since those may not be immediatly visible, but maybe add those in another colour to highlight them coming from the skilltree.

For a complete list of bonuses:
Maybe that could be added to the skilltree menu? Have an extra window or menu that is collapsed by default and that you can pop up to read the entire list of bonuses.

As it is right now, the quirk list with all of the skilltree bonuses is just unnecessarily clustered in my opinion.

Yep, that's very frustrating. Considering that PGI constantly changes mechs' quirks every patch, it's easier to check them in store than in mechlab. And that HUUUUUUGE list of +1 ammo to every single weapon is just ridiculous.
Also, I think that armor and structure quirks should as well be moved somewhere else or at least highlighted with different color.

Of course it is too long, PGI makes you take like a dozen 3% this and .75% that when you fill out any path to get an actual noticeable bonus for damn near anything. For every one category of bonus you want, your getting 2-4 of things you could care less about.

Hey...there's an idea. How about you blank out any bonus of less than say 5%? Have a click box to "show all", but have the default display just dump the minor crap.

Would be nice if the list was optimized a bit for sure.

Yeah it gets hard to read and can make it hard to see the original quirks.

UI is not PGI's strong suite.

It's funny because the quirks from the skill tree aren't the only ones that make the total list of quirks too long.

They really need to work on their UI here. I might wan the information, but better grouped and with a clear organization.

It would be nice if a mech's inherent quirks were a different text color from the bonuses you get from skill trees, if nothing else. Or hell, marked different, even just using bold or italics, just something to tell you what is iherant to the chassis.

The original skill tree did not add tot he quirk list. all they would have to do is not add all the **** from the new skill tree and I wouldnt have anything to complain about.

Quirks, faction play, tons of other similar stuff thats quite frankly confusing and over complicated for something that should be quick, simple and fun, its no wonder i cant get any of my friends/family to stick to this game.

Yes.

Would like to see chassis based quirks differentiated from skill tree based quirks.

ME!

I would also very like if they could put at the top or show in different color the basic quirks for this specific mech. Once you start selecting skills you have no idea what was the basic ones for that mech.

That would just be lazy. I hope they'd actually type out the quirk/skill instead of mashing hands on keyboard.

When I want to double check if I have speed tweak on a mech without going into the skills menu but I also happen to have an ammo perk then I cannot see the rest of the skills I have.

If only somebody had at some point suggested a solution to this exact problem that everybody hadn't totally ignored.
