Edit: I've chosen (and have some of your ideas in mind for the future, too). See my last post for my first one in one of the new paint schemes!

The value of paint...
Posted Image
It cannot be overstated.
Posted Image

They did some shoot 'n' loot and I have two patterns to pick. I have a lot of mechs... Posted Image Like a lot.

And many of them have patterns from back when Lordred did the Perfect Screenshot thread and as you can guess, I like to look good.
....but many of my newer ones don't. Mainly a lack of inspiration to buy any (and lack of pattern sales).

But now I have two free patterns that I can put on some of my mechs; the question is which mech and what pattern?

So I'm looking for mech/pattern suggestions. Edit: This won't let me pick Monday, so today is the last day.

My Mechs that don't have patterns:
Lights:
Firestarter.
Javalin.
Jenner IIC
Wolfhound.

Mediums:
Assassin.
Bushwacker.
Crab.
Huntsman
Phoenix Hawk
Shadow Hawk
Vindicator

Heavy:
Black Knight
Linebacker
Marauder
Rifleman
Roughneck
War Hammer
(Have patterns for but would welcome Timber Wolf, Mad Dog, Summoner)

Assault:
Annihilator (no options, sadly, from the Shoot 'n' Loot event)
Cyclops
Kodiak
Highlander IIC
Marauder IIC
King Crab (have Phranken)
Warhawk & Dire Wolf (have Phranken, like these mechs so open to suggestions; own Polygon on both)
Super Nova
Mauler
Zeus
Gargoyle
Executioner

So? Suggestions? Only the ones available on the Shoot 'n' Loot please, deadline's day after Monday.

That leaves so many possible options...

Lately I've been inspired to do many relatively low-key "functional" camos.

The Polygon pattern works really well as a basis for lots of 'mechs. You can do cool looking woodland/desert/snow camos with it. Here's one on the Phoenix Hawk:

Sherman is also a good basic camo pattern, but you get some extra flair with the stars:

The Cobra camo is very rarely seen. I think it looks kind of cool on the Vindicator:

For my favorite mechs, I go snowfall, with a base of dark gray, orange snowflakes, and red undertone. Makes it look like your mech is standing over fire and works pretty well on almost any mech. You'll have to play around with the red undertone, as that tertiary color can be slightly different for each mech.

You're right on that.

Been using it for a while. Also made the Dire Cow with it.

My one issue with the Cobra is that colors sometimes don't change very well with it. I do like it and I have maybe two mechs that use it.

First time I have ever seen someone make a case for Snowfall. That sounds pretty neat actually.

These are pretty old, but I love how it looks.

Still pretty open to more suggestions, I have at least a whole day before I gotta make my decision and take my picks.

So... did a big post, put all the pictures, and the toddler hit F5, lost it all.. Here we go again but a bit lazier.

Included some of the pattern suggestions given already. Ignore colors; I have a lot of them I was just in a hurry. There's a lot more mechs open to suggestions than shown feel free to share your own images and

Removed the spoiler since it seems people might be skipping it.

For IS mechs I'm a big fan of the Davion and Liao camos, the nice texturing is really cool and they can change up the colors a lot.

also a fan of the ghost bear camo.

You have no idea how much I wish I could get the faction camos out of the shoot and loot selections.

Sadly it stops at "Premium" camos and above Premium camos is Faction camos. So pretty much everything but the Faction camos are available to me from the selectors. (Also no Tartan, I tried Tartan on every mech and it looks terrible no matter what).

Btw both of those Rifleman look sickly awesome!

The Super Nova's pretty hot too.

I can not recommend Crusader enough for the Warhammer.

Davion Red/White/Blue. Sorted.

Closest I can get to a Union Flag camo.

So I did that, it looked pretty good until I resorted the colors to try and match the Union Flag. It was okay. So I tried some other colors (and in this color combination is the only time Tartem ever looked good).

Here's Crusader, Applejack and Raider.

I realized I actually don't really like patterns or hero paintjobs. So I used to just paint everything hotrod black.
But then why have expansive paintjobs if nobody can see then? With all the new types of black and purple
I can now have the best of two worlds.

I just logged into MWO to have a look at a few of your requested varients, as you cannot do faction cammo (usualy the best)

I do not usualy buy cammo, although I have had quite a few patern unlocks from buying the preorder packs, but looking through the basic and premium cammo these are my preferances for your Light and Medium Mechs:

for firestarter I would go Cobra (although I also like the default firestarter cammo)
for the wolfhound I would go Phranken, Woodland or Hot Rod
Hot Rod looks great on Bushwacker
for the Crab Cobra or Buckeneer
as for Shadow Hawk, unfortunately its beat up and faded finish do not, to my eye, look great with any cammo spec
I think for the Phoenix Hawk Tarten looks most visualy interesting

disclamer, the above is based upon my persional asthetic tastes, as asthetics are completely subjective many people are likelty to disagree

Had just answered a question about a panther, so I looked at mine and went through camos.

Accidentally stumbled on this gem with my Feldgrau, Turmeric, Black paint scheme.

Will try some of the ones you suggested shortly, Rogue. Blut, you make the Raider look like a good idea; I'm worried about it emphasizing my leg a bit too much as a target. Kind of the reason I would normally avoid Crusader, though it does look good on some mechs. I want a Liao scheme for my Cyclops (and most of my mechs).
