Rocket Launchers Have Minimum Range?

A. The number of shots you got is equal to the rating of the launcher (i.e. RL10 gets 10 shots). Each rocket does somewhere between 5-10 damage and there's a cooldown between each rocket firing (DPS over time should be much lower than SRMs; rockets should emphasize burst over DPS even if made into multi-shot weapons).
B. They remain single-shot as they are now if you mount only the launcher, but you can now choose to mount extra ammo that lets you use them multiple times. Damage toned down, spread however gets toned down as well.

That's not true, there also good for padding components with doors to retain the armour bonus.

2 dmg per missile with a 0.25s delay between shots. One missile per shot, no additional ammo (beyond ammo racks) and no minimum range. Accuracy needs a buff, give it the same spread as ATMs with a lock.
It makes the RL20 an equivalent to the Clan ATM-12s for damage/dps but trades the ability to reload and get locks for no minimum range.

yea, you dont want to blow yourself up. its a good feature to have irl. but this is a game. hell if you make them 3 damage a rocket firing every quarter second with very little spread, it can keep the min range.

Yeah, but it seems silly to impose that on them. Whether it be because of an engine limitation or intentional, Mektek allowed you to add ammo to rocket launchers and honestly it wasn't a bad idea. Requiring you to have more hardpoints to essentially have more ammo is just....silly.

I think MekTek's rationale was simply because single-shot RL's wouldn't be very useful or exciting in MW4. I'm pretty sure making them single-shot would've just been a matter of only giving them enough ammo to fire once, a simple number change. It's actually easier to do in MW4 than MWO probably since ammo bins are integrated into the weapons there.
While the rocket-machine-gun thing was fun for trolling poptart assaults in NHUA servers (my 2 Heavy RL Owens set to chainfire caused SO much rage), I don't think MWO should copy that because the SRM2 already does that here.

From what I remember when playing around with modding MW4 myself, if it has an ammo bin, it automatically is able to have up to 10 tons of ammo or something like that.

I mean I'm okay with a thunderbolt-esque weapon that is able to compete with MRMs or something. My problem with SRM2s is that few very few mechs can mount enough to be worthwhile.

Hey i agree Rockets launchers in game should kill both parties if they use them too close.. I'm all for that would be extremely funny as.

lots of weapons have a min range jsut for that purposes. ppcs for example. should be a min range override so i can get that backsplash. i find the lack of true splash in this game disturbing. seems in most of my favorite shooters the splashy weapons are my favs.
