Actually, not to be picky but how could a elemental be more mobile then a space marine, And the armor is designed to withstand both explosive and laser rounds. Not to mention if the space marine manages to close in on the elemental. Also the space marine have access to Plasma weapons and grenades as standard.

And not to mention if we scale things up the Terminator armor.

I agree the jump jet give the elemental and edge when it comes to closing the gap, but otoh the SM are trained against jump troops.

Consider that Elementals have jump jets (mobility) their suits are also capable of self-repair, and they are genetically engineered with anti-mech warfare in mind. (a Terminator would be at the mercy of swarming elementals)

I personally think a Spartan would top them both. While they don't have the integrated weapons, their armor does have built-in shielding, and enhaces the strength, speed, and reflexes of the wearer (which are already genetically/cybernetically enhanced) Spartans in the novels can lift tanks, see in bullet-time, worth far more than their numbers, and capable of winning even against impossible odds.

If you included Terminator armor with built in power claws then space marines hands down. But since we are talking 'normal' space marine armor I would say they fall second to Elementals.

Spartans are undoubtedly strong, fast, and quick to react. I'm pretty sure if the Halo games portrayed Chief correctly, it would feel more like Quake. Our last best hopes would probably be more capable then Elites, right? But one question: is the strength of the shields and armor also underplayed in the games for difficulty? Because even if those Imperium Bolters fire very low velocity shots, you can't escape the fact they are freaking .75 caliber rifles that a Marine can use on fully automatic. If the games have it correctly, I figure that 1 shot to break shields and 1 shot to punch the armor would be enough to put down a Spartan.

But surely the it must be underplayed. Noble Six was a "dollar store" Spartan (aka, Mark III version) and Jorge was pretty confident of him surviving a fall from geosynchronous orbit. ORBIT. Do you know how high that is?

I think "capable of winning even against impossible odds" is sort of par for course with power armor, no? Marines purge entire planets of heretics, Elementals take on humongous mecha with huge gigajoule guns on them, Nanosuit wearers take on alien invasions by themselves...

second place i voted elemental cause of most of the arguments above the elementals are like space marines but mentally they are full or heresy!

last i voted nano suit why? in my mind freeze mode with the varia gun would be capable of shattering the cryosuit an user, iron man would shoot it till its dead jim, the cryosuit user would wear out mentally because the terrans are space hicks! ,an this is SPAAAAARTAAAAH!

first - variasuit ... is the most advanced ... has imo the most powerfull weapons and shielding ... though needs a lot of concentration ...

very close second - ironman suit (but rather extremis) ... is the most usefull in pretty much every situation ... very high mobility and good arsenal

third - spacemarine armor ... just plain badass ... terminator armor = *drool*

nanosuit - simply cool and has stealth aswell

worst - Mjonirarmor ... i just hate that armor
