Exploiting is clearly defined in their rules.

• Win-trading.
  
• Farming.
  
• Throwing a match to lower the Elo rating of your Team or raise the Elo rating of the opposing Team.
  
• Utilizing an Alternate Team to manipulate the Elo or performance of a Primary Team.
  
• Utilizing an Alternate Team with a 'fresh' Elo rating for the purposes of being more likely to compete against other Teams within an Elo range lower than that of your Primary Team.

No one is doing those things, we are fighting, we are just aware of our skills not being top comp. Just because we know we aren't top comp material don't mean we have no right to play, its open to everybody. PGI is obviously doing this so people try it. Then some will stay or try harder next year. Im going to watch how it goes and really, maybe it will be worth it to create my own team that's going to be more on the serious side. You can bet your *** a lot of people are thinking the same thing as me but they wont speak up for now.

Context wise, that probably means farming scores or padding stats. Like if on a losing skirmish, you just shut-down somewhere so you don't die and wouldn't count on your KDR.

Getting stuffs, that's most likely different.

Oddly enough, if more people play in comp queue, the Elo differences will start to settle, teams will get stratified and start facing competition closer to their actual level during larger queue sessions, which means they'll fight over 1st place or 35th place or whatever and probably have a good time doing it. Alot of these "pick up" teams that I've talked to actually enjoyed some of their matches and might keep playing, if only to take a shot at the next tier of prizes from PGI.

If you can be dead last, doesn't mean you cannot compete for 35th.

Thank you, to the first 11 that stepped up to spend ~two hours and earn free MC & Mechbays.

It wasn't hard, it just took some time.. about an hour to find people and about an hour to get a Comp drop.

If you still need a team, try looking for people in Global / IS / Clan chat in-game. There are a lot of people willing to do it, they just lack the initiative to start it, themselves.

Two hours of work waiting is well worth 2k MC and 2 free MechBays that will be delivered in December. It's like signing up for a Xmas present from PGI.

But what if we end up dominating the field?

I don't think I can handle that kind of commitment.. I have real life stuff to do..

i was reeding the rules and the deadline for forming a team for the championships is august 1. this is just the cutoff point for having a team. the championship hasnt even started yet, therefore logically were not qualified to win the participation prize since we havent participated yet. we are currently in the open period, not in the championships. we actually have to play the seed games before we are counted as participants. i dont think its as simple as play 2 competitive games, get free stuff. dont go busting up the team, by having one we can still qualify in theory.

e: i might be wrong, we are currently in the open seeding phase. after august 1 we will be in closed seeding. so technically all matches played should count. how many games neccisary to qualify is still a big question mark, but it doesnt say anywhere on anything ive read.

I can't play for a few days, but after that I'd love to do some more matches with the team.

i want to play at least some comp games, if only for the experience. i dont expect to do well, but you never know. we should at least try to keep the team together so we have the option. it probibly wont be as rushed as the previous attempt. i just gave everyone permissions to launch games on the teams behalf. in case im not there. looks like 6th handed over the captaincy back to me.

Today is the last day to get a team.. I am looking for one, I have both a IS and Clan account. I also play lights and do pretty well in them. But i can play anything.

I would much rather play more games than just enough as well. Please Send me a PM if there is a team looking. I will pop in later today to see. I dunno how you get added to a team or make a team. (i sent lordnothing a friend invite last night but never got a message back before i had to log out)

My Clan account is CJ Daxion, Id be happy to play a ACH if it i needed. While i do fairly well in my EXE, i am not sure it is the best Comp set up, but who knows. I also have Nova, hellbringer, ebon, timber which i do all right in. I have a few others that i don't do as well..


(btw doesn't the team allow 12 people? So you can have more than 8, so i would think if you are part of the team, and do drops you should get the reward right? Wouldn't it be better if you wanna play more than a handful of matches to actually have the full roster to get some more matches in?)

This topic goes against the spirit of competitive play and these rewards are for the teams who take their time and effort in participating in competitive play. It is not meant to be exploited in this matter.

Therefore a new rule has been implemented regarding ALL rewards on the Prize page.
