I know they were in previous games, would X-Pulse lasers be a worthy addition to add to the Inner Sphere's weapon aresenal?
Although the current timeline (3057ish?) I'm not even sure if they are in prototype stage.

well it does say year available 3057.
wonder what kind of heat cost it would have for the extended range over the large pulse laser.

They'd need pretty hefty buffing from their base stats, as they usually payed way too much heat for only the range of STD lasers.

In MWO's current environment, trying to find a role for them would be difficult without either stepping on the toes of other IS lasers or having the X-Wubs be outclassed.

3057 is the experimental date of introduction, not their mass production date of introduction.

Gimme a minute to dig through some TROs to find their mass production DoI.

so 450 meter range at 11 damage and 11 heat with a burntime of 0.67 seconds?

From TRO: Prototypes, X-Pulse Lasers became 'Advanced rules' with the 3078 date, which represents the date when they become mass produced standard equipment.

3078 is Jihad era, over 10 years past the end of the Civil War era.

IMO we have enough new tech for now. Let the balance for the current crop of shiny toys settle, then worry about adding the rest of the goodies.

10% of the skill tree gets you to 401 m. A TC2 gets you to 420 m. If you want to run hot with longer ranged LPL, just sacrifice your DHS for a TC.

You're gonna need something way more than a mere 90 m bump in range; try 540 meters.

X-Large Pulse had 50% greater range than regular Large Pulse in TT, so if it received the same range bump over the regular Large Pulse in MWO, it'd have 547.5 meter range.

More like 10 damage (like the std LPL), 8.25 heat, 0.67 or 0.7? Whatever the LPL is, and 450 m range.

Slightly longer cooldown than std LPL. Honestly even that is pretty bad, too hot, the extra range is not worth the heat in this case.

It's right there in the first paragraph of the linked Sarna page... How did the OP miss it?

Concerning their range: "Large X-Pulse Lasers are the biggest and deadliest of the X-Pulse Lasers and though they build massive amounts of extra heat, they boast the same range as a standard Large Laser."

Standard LPL heat is 7.25 with an optimal range of 365 and max of 730. Burntime duration is .67 seconds and cooldown is 3.00 seconds

Heat would have to be a little more than 1 (9 heat?) over for that extra 175 meter range. That or increase both the burntime duration(which should stay the same) or the cooldown.

sorry about the quoting mess you have there. I didn't miss that, but if you look at the page for the Large X-Pulse laser it says year available is 3057. Besides, if you read my OP you would see that the thread is just about if the timeline was advanced or would need to be, and if these weapons could fit in game. Also something something Solaris and the Daedalus mech. pan up and reread. k thanks bye.

Why? The ER LL is one heat more than the STD LL. Raise cooldown to 3.5 or something.

I'm not sure I'd bother with it for full on laser vomit. Only for pairing with Gauss. Triple X-Pulse laser and a Gauss on a HGN-732B wouldn't be too bad.

Nah, the only acceptable build on a Misery is AC20/UAC20 and 2 Heavy PPCs. All others are posers.

MWO would become X-rated with these lasers. It would decrease the fan base!
