Stone Rhino 5 is basically a better KDK-3 (4B and 6E) while retaining the engine cap of the KDK-3 and the Stone Rhino 6 is just lolz, 14 cMPLs stock with a cERSL in the head to round all with a 400 XL stock.

Seriously it's like the worst excuse to give for not putting a mech in.

Yeah its a lot more squished vertically than the Dire, which makes me think it would hill hump better/shoot down from high ground better. Which is convenient since it has to take 3 JJs anyway.

That doesn't inspire confidence because the mech that shares the most resemblence with it is the King Crab, and the KGC is notable for having abysmal hitboxes. The wider the mech, the easier it is to isolate torso hitboxes because of how torsos are subdivided.

Ehhh that's a stretch, its not shaped like a brick like the Crab is. It honestly more resembles the top half of a stalker torso with some weapon pods attached to it.
I also wonder what they will do with those shoulders, which on that miniature are bigger than they need to be. I feel like non-missile shoulders wouldn't be that big in this game.

It really doesn't remind me of the Stalker because the Stalker is more cylindrical. This has more in common with the Jenner/Jenner IIC and King Crab than it does the Stalker.
Here is a decent comparison:
Torso wise I would say they resemble each other more than you think, the only difference is the Turkina has a more saucer-esque nose and is wider complete with angled side torso weapon pods rather than the upright King Crab.

Yeah, it kinda is bad. Slow assaults work best against static targets, and MWO battlefields tend to be pretty mobile given the default tactic is "NASCAR mode".
Pity the poor target boxed in by a Dire Whale, but it's horribly easy to outmaneuver one.

FTFY, even then though, the Whale can work well if you play it right, but very few can because it requires incredibly good positioning to work well.

Eh, it just requires planning ahead and thoughtful positioning. Sometimes **** doesn't go your way, but it can often be devastating.

Maybe. It still seems more sleek than the King Crab to me, but I think it would come down to Alex/modeling.

It would be better than the Nightstar for sure, on account of being able to do a respectable alpha with Dual gauss. But, a pancaked Nightstar is a good description of its geometry. Definitely not a bad thing...

400 engine cap assault that can use dual heavy ballistics. Its something no other IS assault can do. Its basically the IS equivalent of the Deathstrike.
Actually the Sleipnir has dual big ballistics/large engine cap covered already.

Instead of Gauss vomit though, it can do something good with ER PPC/UAC10/UAC5 combos.
And a bunch of missile hardpoints as well.
Also, some good JJ quirks for the chassis would be a great way to make it sort of unique!
