Did any one else read this and have an immediate 'WTF are you guys thinking' moment?

Support the Tournament! The Tournament Supporter Pack provides you with an opportunity to show your enthusiasm for the 2017 MechWarrior Online World Championship Tournament.

How about you guys show your enthusiasm for MWO and provide some form of content beyond mech packs at this point? I dont mean new tech, I dont mean new cockpit items, I mean something that isnt a random arena shooter. We play 12vs12 IS and Clan mechs side by side in awful, ultra basic game modes.

This doesnt rise to the level of insulting as Gold mech packs, but its pretty ballsy after almost a year of no new map releases.

Am I the only one this rubbed the wrong way?

I guess if you're charged with marketing, you can't exactly say "please support our mediocre video game by handing over your hard-earned money instead of putting it towards mortgage"..

I dunno, I too would prefer a "deeper" game instead of an arena shooter, but I've just accepted that'll be beyond the scope of MWO. I'll just take the game for what it is, and it's really fun. Currently the new tech spice things up a bit. If I want the full depth I'll just fire up MegaMek.

And that supporter pack is good value for what it is. Half a year of "premium lite" and some badge/title/cockpit bling for $10 is really great.

we knew their was going to be another Tournament Support Pack,
it isnt like this was Sprung on us out of the Blue, also many have been asking about it,
its just like it was last year, like it will likely be every year here on out in MWO life span,

also on account of Maps,

No, but most people probably don't follow development closely.

We were told in the last town hall that new maps were in the works, and that they're going to be working on a Solaris VII mode.

I was thinking about what a great deal it is for $5 to get 10% xp and cbill boost for 5 months. The other $5 plus a whole lot more you can recoup by winning or placing in the tournament. Soooo, you are complaining about $5 for potentially tens of thousands of xp and millions of Cbills??

This is a shooter and I'm totally ok with that. MW4:Mercs multiplayer was the same and it lasted at least for a decade.

Exactly the way it was in MW4:Mercs multiplayer and it lastly at least a decade. Sometimes it's kinda obvious who has supported the franchise for a long time.

Only point I'll give you

i wish they could take any feature they implement beyond 75% completion. the game after all these years still seems unfinished and no quantity of mech packs will be enough to do it. skill trees felt rushed, new weapons feel rushed, the latest changes to fp feel rushed. development is usually abandoned on any new feature just because those changes missed the patch interval and they never see the light of day again. when i had my programming classes they told us 'its never finished', but thats just philisophical pondering. a program is finished when its design, its complete design, is made manifest and is stable and predictable. starting with a particular design intent and not following through just makes the game feel clunky.

I'm not that confident with them at the moment.

Civil War so half-assed that they haven't even implemented the weapon models on majority of the mechs when it came out. Urbanmech got it's weapons updated which is nice along with a few others, but while it's the mech for me, there are other mechs in the game too.

ATM is not what it was supposed to be -- a generalist missile weapon not screwed over by range. RAC are poorly implemented -- i get that it's supposed to be an 8 - 10 ton dakka machine, but it fails miserably both on damage and ergonomics.

Heavy Gauss Rifle's range is stupidly short and has reticle-shake as if screen shake wasn't already bad enough. Light Gauss Rifle barely have any good advantages in picking over AC10. etc. etc.

There was also the abortion of the Energy Draw that let us down. That terrible tweaking of the C-SPLs. Stiff MCII walking animation. Atlas still has that limp. Shadow hawk still doesn't show SRM4 on the side torso. etc. etc.

The only good decision i could remember is when they linked Gauss and PPC together, putting end to an era. Which was nice, good riddance. But mostly it was just a let down.

So far my wallet is only open for that loyalty R68 Urbanmech.

**** Solaris! **** eSports!

Why don't they first finish the goddamned game they were supposed to build in the first place instead on embarking on another less than half-cocked endeavor?

While I agree that it is complete BS that PGI hasn't introduced at least 1/2 a dozen new maps so far into the game, it isn't like they are just asking you to donate money without a benefit. That 10% boost to C-bills and XP for about 4 months is well worth $10 plus it is supporting the game.

See here is the kicker. The more money PGI makes, the more they are going to be willing to invest back into the game. I think people forget that part when the start complaining about a "For Profit" company asking its players to buy things. I mean if you don't like it, don't spend money for it. Also if you don't want to support the game but want to take advantage of all the people that do support the game then continue to be a Free-to-Play player. It is pretty simple really.

i like to think that we already have solaris, its called quick play. how else do you explain the mixtech. those arent battles in the inner sphere, its a damn game show. fp is the real game for me and even thats questionable. the de-facto walling off of huge sections of the population. esports is just pgi grasping at straws. a way to get people to show up at mech con. i wish they would focus on what they are supposed to be good at, game dev.

I dont need more imaginary mech money or xp. And if you REALLY think that PGI has a solid track record of investing back into the minimally viable product then I have a bridge to sell you.

Stupid question maybe, but what do you expect? A full blown MMO experience to suddenly come out of a game that's basically been running the way it is for close to half a decade?

You can dislike the game and / or its state all you like, but I'd kill for Solaris. Give me a drop deck style system where you win by winning, say, three out of five drops against your opponent and I'd be set for a good long while.
