When did the 2X ever have glory days? It's always been shunned since the game began.

I do not want to offend you but heck, you were completely ignored and free to do your thing. If you consider this video an "evidence"...
And the first mech's behaviour makes me doubt this were T1 or T2 players (not that they act all smart there all the time) because anyone with a knowledge of the map and mode knows that the bulk of the enemy team will stand there at the beginning of the match - and this mech just strolled into this place apparently clueless.

Look, its great that you have had a good game in the Huggin. It's great that maybe you even have lots of great games in it.
That individual positive experience however, does not somehow counter act the overwhelming and intuitively obvious reality that a 2M and 4B 35ton mech that once was fun to play largely due to quirks has been rendered significantly less fun to play. Not only is it less fun but it is in contrast to PGI's stated goals of yore in that it has no real role anymore. Nearly any other light mech is better in this mechs role of fast harasser/striker at this point in time. Want machine guns and a hero? Take an Ember. Want a fast striker with missiles? No question that the Javlin is where its at. Hell, even an Oxide with all of its nerfs over tha last year and a half will outperform a Huggin. Even a Pirate's Bane at 15 tons lighter can do the job of being a backdoor assassin (see all so the Assasin for a superior mech with the same role, albeit at 5 tons heavier) better than than the Huggin.
The point is, your couple of good games does not magically make this mech somehow good in the overall picture of this game. It isn't competitive (which PGI says it should be). It has no in game role that is particularly useful (which PGI says it should have). It is not particularly fun to play more than others (which it used to be). Put simply: the Huggin has, as a matter of observable fact, been turned into garbage by the dartboard and its keeper(s) and your video worthy game does not change that.

Be as harsh as you like. I'm new to YouTube and harsh criticism is good. Ill just end up uploading better games later. End of the day I had fun and enjoy the little mech. Not many mechs offer the same play style as the old Huggin. Low alpha but decent dps, that can keep the damage going for over 1 minute before you over heat. Is it weaker after the new skill tree? Yes, by a little bit, but not by that much, I think a little bit less dps for more tank and higher velocity, is a fair trade off. Bruno

It is not just about dps. Let's take your build, 2xSRM6 and 4xMGs.
You save your MGs for later, fine. No problem. You need the opportunity for them. However, if you fire your SRM6s in the initial stages you pepper an enemy like a LBX because you have no artemis while a good enemy with some awareness will give you more point placed return fire. In the end it is like peeing in a wildfire. Sure, the fire will burn a bit less for second but at the end your wiener gets burned. I would take a laser-based mech any day over that simply because I can strike with more precision.

I'm happy that you are enjoying it. But seriously, think about your own statements.
"You're a light and your aim is to be ignored and not be shot at." In that case you would be far better off in a Pirate's Bane, or frankly just about any other light with ECM. Even without ECM at a mech with a smaller profile (commando for example) will do that job better.
As to the hit and run aspect, there are better mechs for that. And if you are relying on your "crit seeking machine guns" then you are not hitting and running but in fact relying on sustained fire to do its "crit seeking" job. Pirate's Bane as an example is smaller and harder to hit and can do both of those jobs better (see also Spider 5K). And lets not dwell on the fact that if you are in fact hitting and running then your point about DPS is irrelevant.
Like I said, I am happy that you enjoy the mech. But the mech is just not a good one compartitively speaking. Many mechs can do any of the activities you describe, and do them far better than the Huggin. PGI needs to give it a role or make it just more fun. But right now...besides you and I am sure a few other hard core fans...it just isn't fun and it isn't good at what it is supposed to do (whatever that is).

So, no fix for you.
Please buy other, currently better-quirked, Hero Mechs.

They nerf mediocre and even crap mechs all the time.
The only way to avoid nerfs is to play mechs without quirks. Alas, the poor Timber shows that even this strategy might not save you from the nerf hammer.

It was armed with a single heavy PPC, zipping along at 130kph or so with a care in the world.
There's got to be something the Hugbox can do. At the least, you can get more out of it's MG mounts with LMGs.

If it's buffed clammers and stupid heavy and assaults will cry as they always do. Then pgi will listen to the vocal minority as they always do and it will be nerfed even worse than it is now.
And after that pgi will probably nerf all light mechs yet again to compensate for the window licking heavy/ assaults incompetence.
