....I think they call'em "Potato builds"....

Which is a terrible name for something that is supposed to be 'bad' (not that I am saying those builds are not bad) Potatoes are amazing food.

Better to call them "Beer Builds"
Better description of the state of mind of many of those who drive them

And better alliteration. Posted Image

Don't understand the hate, was done this event in just over 24 hours' time...

That might be extreme for some, but then again, i had the luxury of Urbies for the light portion...

depends how much time a player has to play, Also trial mech or not, some are not skilled enough to knock it out with-in a few hours. Specially in a full PUG team, which can make it even more difficult.

And some trial mechs are a better choice then what some are using, I think they call'em "Potato builds".
bad thing about these types of events, there is less team work, and just more selfish only scoring to gain the event awards, many not interesting in winning the match, they're just aiming at the event score requirements to completing the event.

Then, it's only a Quick Play event, which is just another word for PUG Team FFA event

Honestly I was mostly amused at the fact that them changing the requirements actually made it easier with that mech rather than a humble brag. Matches getting three kills and two assists were actually making it look to be a real slog.

I tend to agree that more time to complete the events would be nice for everyone. I don't really get why one event isn't active for a full week until the he next one pops up. Would be really nice for those who take longer or can't play on the weekend.

Edit:Oops forgot I was on my IS main for this post.

I owned the Tournament Supporter pack before this event started but I did not get the bonus rewards for owning it from the challenges. Anyone else have this problem? Can PGI fix this please? (This was one of the benefits offered with the Tournament Supporter Pack when it was offered and one of the reasons that I bought it.) Thanks. - Alan

*Bonus Prizes are injected at the end of the event. If you purchase and redeem the Tournament Supporters Pack before the end of the event you will receive the bonus Prizes associated with the Completed Challenges at the end of the event as well!
You'll get it at the end of event.

If you're doing the "Personal Challenge", it's not mech specific, only weight class. The names of the challenges are just PGI's attempt at cute puns.

Right .. I completed it and all assaults count. A little confusing obviously. Also not obvious is when you get credit for the tournemant pack ... apparently not until the very end (so far, since I have it and didn't get
Credit for it yet).

I'm arrived at destination and wanted to say that I'm glad I had time to complete Medium and Assault because I wanted those warhorns. I didn't know how they sound but I took a chance and after getting the first one I liked it and wanted the other one, even if this implied that I would have only 4 hours to sleep before I had to leave for good without the chance to play for the rest of event. So I didn't have much time but was able to get those.

When I'll be back I will bring those on the battlefield... can't wait!

So if we come 25th or higher do we just get the camo or the other rewards as well.

I have looked for the info but not seeing anything that makes it clear, that I've seen.

I'm not a fan of Phrakken so I'd rather come 26th if it's only the one prize, and I have a choice in the matter

Is the Tournament Supporter Reward working? I only received the regular warhorn and 2 Mi C-bills for the Heavy Challenge. Does anyone know?

I had the same experience and posted about it and a player said the tournemant bonus is oven at the end of the event -- and actually I double checked and the event announcement says "bonus awards injected at the end of the event" -- so it is definitely at the end.

i would assume you get the other rewards as well, i'm pretty sure that's how it's worked for all of the previous leaderboard events.

I wrote to customer service about it and have not heard back yet .. and it's been longer than usual with them, sonI wonder if it's not a bug. However, since you get the bonus if you get the tournament pack anytime before the end of the challenge, it might make sense for them to do all the bonuses together at the end. But it would be more user friendly to give it to you in real time and I don't think the announcement says in any clear way that the bonus is given at the end. I suggest you write to support to let them know it's an issue for you.

Actually I double checked and the event announcement says "bonus awards injected at the end of the event" -- so it is definitely at the end.

Well, I made it for the Light, Medium and Heavy challenge. Thanks for the event, even though the last minute update was a tad of a bummer for a mediocre casual like yours truly. I think I sounded a bit salty earlier, which is not entirely fair. I welcome the attempts at changing it up a between events/challenges and not everything can be a winner for everybody.

Quite pleased that play time included Friday night for Oceania, that makes a difference for me. Please keep that up!

I managed to get a decent dent into the Light and Medium part and some unexpected change of schedule allowed for more play time on Sunday too. Combined with some effort on Saturday, I actually managed 3/4. Trying for the Assault challenge as well (Just not that good with Assaults atm) would have just made if from a fun challenge into a chore, so I purposefully ignored that one.

Cheers.
