Hello mechwarriors,

I'm curious how people are doing with their Madcat Mklls and how many people would recommend them. I still have to buy a clan collectors pack for the probable loyalty requirements, and I was wondering if this should be the one I get. I know the walking animation is doodoo, but it shouldn't be a bother from the cockpit. Also, I'm wondering just how good the hit boxes are on it and how front loaded the armor can be.

I had been planning on buying the collectors pack for the Huntsman or Linebacker, but since I already have the hero of those mechs, I wanted to try and get something different. Is the Madcat worth it? Or should I try something else? Thank you in advance for your help.

MCII pack is definitely worth it, but you must buy the Hero variant for the best loadout. Gaussvomit is just sooooo good on the Deathstrike. T1 mech for sure. :)

I like the hero just for the paint job. :P will most likely get that one on top of the collectors pack or at least buy it later on for mc in case I don't get the pack.

The Deathstrike is sweet. The other variants are neat, but having the 1 and 1(S) is utterly redundant. So, I'd say Hero Add on > Reinforcements > Collector's.

You're right, having the 1 and the 1(S) is redundant, unless I can find two builds I like in the mech, and if not, u get a nice infusion of parts and cbills along with all the other goodies that come with the collectors pack.

I would say its way worth it. Play it before they nerf it into the ground for C-Bills.

You have a year!

I highly recommend getting it. Here are a few of my builds that do remarkably well in all play modes despite being nowhere near 'meta'.

MCII-1(S) (Jack of All Trades Mech)
MCII-2 (LRM Boat that can take a hit) *average 1100+ damage per match*
MCII-4 (ERLL sniper) *average 600+ damage per match*
DEATHSTRIKE (LPL 'sniper') *average 750+ damage per match*

I would highly recommend it, especially the hero variant.
The Mad Cat MKII has become my favourite and best performing chassis so far... The animation needs a little help, but other than that it has great hit boxes and great weapon hardpoints... Not the best, but good enough to make it great :)

*checks QP Leaderboard stats* Yeah nope, you aren't hitting anywhere near those average damages.

Which isn't a surprise at all, with builds that bad.

the 4 ballistic variant can do 2UAC5/2UAC10s more effectively than the Kodiak. So get that

To try to give a completely unbiased opinion I find them to be above average mostly due to the high mounts and speed. Hit boxes are ok but not great. I give it the following:

General Durability = 7/10.
Hitboxes = 6/10.
Firepower = 9/10.
Speed = 7/10.
Agility = 5/10
Hardpoint Locations = 9/10.
Walking animation = 1/10.
Chance of Future Nerf = 9/10.

As for being a good buy in regards to the Collectors Edition I would say it is better than most. Of all the (S) variants available it is up near the top. It has a good mix of hardpoints that allows for a decent level of build diversity and effective loadouts.

What is the difference between the MCII-1(s) and the Hero please?
and what is the code for the hero?
I'm trying to find the specs for it.

The hero doesn't have missile hard points. I think think that's about it.

MCII-DS "Deathstrike". No missile hardpoints but it's the only variant with six energy hardpoints.
