Okay yeah if you were running at 20fps with one of those garbage Intel integrated chipsets things suddenly make much more sense. Apologies about my flippancy earlier

That said, if you're not looking to play anything much newer or more hardware-intensive an older 2GB card like a GTX980 would be more than enough.

I am planing to play MW5 so i would wait for the hardware requirement to come out so that i know which card to get without investing again (my speed may be not exactly full speed now, but i can bear with it and i dont have other GPU intensive games to play except the forthcoming MW5).

Fair enough. That said, what we've seen so far does not look particularly... well, it doesn't even really look current-gen, to be nice about it.

Until we have some sort of remedy, the gaming experience in solo queue wont improve......

Solo que has nothing to do with group.. I have zero idea what the hell you are talking about..

VOIP IS OP...

90% of my losses are because no one speaks.. or listens.... Matches more than one person calls a target.. typically is a win.. if no one speaks,.. its a loss.. Try using paper to see how close this is to fact

I love those matches where the guy that decides he wants to call targets calls the targets that are directly in front of him/her instead of what is strategically best for the team.

"Target Bravo! Kit Fox!! Everyone focus fire on that Kit fox!!!!" meanwhile there is a CT cored Stalker and Battlemaster moseying over to the left flank to take out 3 of our team before anyone notices. Those matches are what make me really face my palm. Cuz you know you could say something, but at that point it's already too late.

Honestly,,, anything is better than crickets...

But i understand what you are saying. My point is, match starts, someone calls a location, no one moves, Easy target maybe 2-3 mechs alone, someone calls it, no one moves... then complains about bad players at the end of the match.

Tonight,.. i had a horrible night.. 5-6, 7 8 losses.. I honestly can't even keep track. But what i know they all had in common, No one talked at all, or moved it a mech was called.. The 3 matches i won, one or two people called targets, and people focused on those targets.

This game is not rocket science, its just get slightly on the same page.

What a rollercoaster this has been.

Op knows his computer is subpar, knows he is bad at the game and it is tied to his subpar computer, and has the audacity to suggest a nerf for people who "are good" but most likely means "have better rigs". OP also claims to have applied all the advice he's been given, and nothing works, due the underlyign problem of his machine not having a graphics card.

Lol.

Please just lock this dump.

You can lead a potato to an online computer store, but you can't force him to buy

After reading this thread there should be a new tier sub system. The potato tier of which op is surly a curly fried spud t1. Even I would know that an old pc would need significant upgrades or better yet just buy a new pc dedicated to gaming rather than trying to force old outdated hardware to run new and newer games. While the gtx 660 still kicks out 35-45 fps on games that I play such as metal gear solid v and sniper elite 3 you can't go full bore high or ultra settings.

Considering what OP said, how there is trolling mentioned even in subject title, thinking how odd it's to have a comp with i5 6600K with 16 gig of ram and to play on integrated graphics...

Well, I can understand how some people would take it all seriously, at least he is genuinely playing the game. But still, why take it all so seriously.

I think it is fundementally a good principle that players should roughly be playing along with their own class. (of skill)

Yeah I mean him playing on a toaster doesn't suddenly validate any of the suggestions, it just explains why his performance is so bad. You can't play any FPS on 20fps and expect to even do decently, unless it's ArmA and you're sticking to long range shooting against AI.

Thing is, he could slap a GTX 750Ti into his current computer, OC that i5 6600K to 4.4Ghz+ and he'd have 100 fps playing on low/med settings. I know someone in my unit that did just that, he bought a i5 6600K/mobo/ram, but ran out out money for a new GPU, so he's just playing on his old 750Ti....and he gets 90-100fps.

Those FPS numbers would be his highs, but not his average FPS. He would be better off creating a user.cfg and capping his FPS to 60-70 to reduce the FPS yo-yo from high to lows.

a really good quad core is really a nice way to push those FPS. It will improve your game play. You don't need an 8,12,16 core monster. It doesn't help that much.

FPS will improve gameplay when its that low to start.

I did ok with 20FPS. Couldnt pilots fast mechs anymore but worked ok.

Now, below 20, gets pretty raw, and its the sole reason i stack votes against Forrest Colony, Incursion, and no longer CW.

"OK" is pretty subjective. For instance, my OK and your OK are probably vastly different.

It depends on who you get - but generally, i'll prefer even an incompetent match caller over dead silence. I love it when someone has the stones to voip up and make the calls. I never do, but that's because I generally hate people :)

I've had some fantastic callers in the PUG queues in the past. They can make even defeat more tolerable. It's generally a refreshing change from the "we shouldn't be doing this" or the "you're all gonna die if you walk there/stay here/keep blocking me/ignore those mechs" whiners that think they're making a contribution.

I'll always try to follow the calls of a genuine match leader, even if they're terrible. We need to encourage anyone prepared to take that kind of initiative :)

And on another note, I can't believe this thread is still managing to shamble along, shedding body parts. I'd have thought a mod would have put one in it's brain pan long ago!

My 'ok' was at my peak, @500 damage a match and 1-3 kills on an average match. 300+ damage on losses where I didn't get rolled early while 7+ teammates did sub-200 damage. If that paints a picture.

That's in Solo. I never got good enough for serious Group or CW.

I kinda base my solo 'ok' on if half my pugmates do that well, we should usually win. Which on my choice mechs, had slightly positive KDR/ W-L ratios.

But I'm rusty as balls now and am working back up to those numbers

Update: Based on suggestions, I changed the config of the PC with a significant FPS improvement from ~20-30 to ~45-60, which resulted in a obvious gaming difference including aiming accuracy. It seems a proper level of hardware is essential to play the game properly.

Kudos! Thank you for listening to advice.
I'll hope you will find playing more enjoyable now Posted Image

OP, what you need to understand is that a LOT of us began playing this back when it was a total train wreck. Horrible hit reg, memory leaks, ping from some players high enough that you thought they were using DSL from Mars... We made that incarnation of the game work by practicing. Like, A LOT.

Now that things are at least 'minimally viable', all that time spent practicing means we hit what we aim at, we push as a group, we share armor, and WE TALK TO EACH OTHER. You basically want us to tie our hands behind our backs so you can feel good about yourself. Not gonna happen. I suggest you actually try practicing instead of wasting time attempting to artificially inflate your 'skill' by handicapping others.
