Happy to see this mech added to the game and somewhat excited to pre purchase...

Positives
-Favorite heavy
-Favorite MW4 mech
-JJ+ECm
-I actually like the colors and pattern choice this round
-Decal not bad
-Premium time is back
-I like the way the concept art looks

Negatives
-#1 ECM + JJ probably means PGI will nerf the mobility to that of a 100ton (after 3 months)
-the concept art looks good (yes this is a negative)
-Proportions will probably not match concept art
-Geo will probably not match concept art
-Animations may release unfinished
-Still selling packs based on the Rule Of Three? (let me pick 3 of 5 if I must buy 3)
-The C-bill bonus mech doesn't have a ballistic (let me pick please)
-I don't like the hero
-Dual ballistic is only in reinforcement and when I only want ONE or TWO why pay for FIVE?
-Premium time not banked
-Collecting more robots to play the same uninspired minimum effort game modes feels pointless?
-The LBX20 is still 11 slots and thus I cant run my fav build from MW4.

I suppose I could pre purchase again and let them give me a reason to refund yet again
-Founders Legendary (very happy great value)
-Phoenix overload ( Huge disappointment. The C-bill bonus mechs are the worst variants and the unique geo makes them easier to hit and harder to see out of)
Marauder Collectors (power draw = refund)
Warhammer + Hero (power draw = refund)
Bushwacker+hero (Happy but should have waited to buy the hero outright with event MC)
Uziel collectors (Refunded. Concept art bait and switch)
Annihilator collectors (Refunded. No civil war in the civil war patch / timeline bait and switch)
Thantos collectors?

I expect it to be as wide as the Grasshopper with a bit more side torso than CT. I doubt it will be much bigger than the Grasshopper or Summoner.

I run an XL on my Grasshoppers, because I usually get cored out CT before I lose my torsos even when I am torso twisting.

I think it uses the exact same arm as the summoners left arm, so that could be quite a nice hint on it's scale.

But does it come with an Infinity Gauntlet? That's the question...

After the Uziel sizing looking very different to what I expected I am going to wait on this until we get more details.

In truth since the Skill Tree I am less inclined to buy mech packs due to the fact that in the main only a few packs have enough good mechs to justify spending real money

You could most probably get away with having at best two any chassis and more over this whole chassis worship is detracting from the lack of decent features in the game. I would love for there to be the excitement in making more maps or better game modes or improving game play in FW but it seems that these things are less important

with light engines there isn't a reason to take a XL in anything but a light and some mediums.

I agree. Just noting the stock XL is a liability on the ones that come with one. How, times change...

Lol, i did exactly the same thing. Its very limited though, because Gauss (7) + ECM (2) + Stealth Armour (2) = 11 slots used in ST, meaning it can only be done with a standard engine. You can fit a 280 ish with 5 tons of ammo and 1-2 JJs, at which point you also run out of slots.

Yes sadly I came to the same conclusion. On the good side the skill tree does help with ammo. Posted Image

That's being disingenuous at best though I'm sure you enjoyed your rant. As much as I love them Jenner IIC's are renowned for their CT vulnerability which is why we shoot and scoot.

Not that personally I'd call them tall just vulnerable.

well, as much as they're renowned for that "vulnerability" the fact remains that in the hands of a decent pilot, a Jenner IIc, and a Jenner, which shares pretty much the same torso vulnerability, are still pretty viable mechs. that and i've found people trust ECM to keep them safe wayyyyy too much. the Raven pretty much has the same massive snout problem the Jenner has, but yet you don't see people whining about the 3L's vulnerability.

I honestly also see the slightly worse hitboxes it has compared to the IS version being a tradeoff for the fact you're essentially getting twice the firepower an IS Jenner can carry. for the guy who said all you can do is hit and run? that's kinda what you're supposed to do in a light, period. Striker mechs aren't meant to engage someone face to face. anything considered a 'Brawler" generally tends to be 50 tons or up because by that point it actually has the armor for facetime. bad hitboxes ain't a problem if the enemy doesn't see you in the first place.

I'd agree with most of that - the difference to your prior post however is you used the words "pretty viable" this time which is damning a mech with faint praise. Its a great mech used in very specific ways - the rest of the time there are vastly better lights. Mostly currently seen in faction warfare in organised teams.

Where I just shook my head is you bringing in the Raven 3L as an argument. The reason people don't complain about the hitboxes on that is that it has very high energy viewpoints so you can peep and you also engage from long range. I mean you genuinely compared a mech usually mounting ERLL's or PPC's to a SRM light?

I will not buy. Too few guns. And what are these sets? 2 lasers, 2 ballistic, 2 rockets. Where is 9 energy? Where are the four ballistics? It seems like the fish again do not want my money.

Yes because every mech should have metamech hardpoints (granted, I think it should at least have an extra couple hardpoints just because its a heavy mech).

And by the by, the mech you're asking for already exists, it's called the Black Knight. How boring would it be if they just kept putting out mechs with the same hardpoints?

I was going to buy because I actually really like this 'Mech, but some people brought up some really good points... Yet another 'Mech. What about those massive overhauls to make this a complete/finished game? This seems to be a constant issue for PGI. They release 'Mech after 'Mech and when the volume gets too loud they release some maps and maybe 1-2 new modes that have some serious issues... then they have to spend a bunch of time correcting those modes. Do I really want to show them that they can continue this as a business model and thus support bad habits? OR do I vote with my wallet and let them know that I'm not okay with this?

Do you guys have an actual game plan or are you just kind of winging it?

I'm not entirely sure why folks are talking about this mech overriding all other IS heavies. The Thanatos is basically an Archer... except with 5 more tons, ECM, jump jets and a better mix of hard points... Yet it's still basically an Archer with those suicidal hitboxes.

The Thanatos will have its place for sure. Plentiful hardpoints, ECM and 75 tons worth of armor assure that. But I don't think it will take over the game or whatever. (Unless PGI buffs the hell out of the armor/structure. Then all bets are off until they nerf it back down.)

Hi guys

The thanatos do not have 360 ° rotation.. ???
and it is not an electronics monster ...
Where is the "IFF-Jammer" ... there's that as a Quick ???

We should start a petition, so we get a proper Thanatos (!!)

And no running WOOD GRINDING. Posted ImagePosted Image

And if already invented PGI variants then please also the "XT"Posted Image

have a nice day

I watched a few gameplay videos of the Thanatos in MW4 and I did not see it torso twist 360 degrees in any of the videos, it does seem to twist a full 180 degrees though.

Looks interesting. Omnimech for IS with ECM and possibly Stealth Armor could work even with huge Side Torsos. Light Engine maybe. Posted Image

Then it has not been used in the video. Believe me i double checked. 360° was pretty much real in MW4 MekTek, for Thanny amd Thanny XT.

I put up a < 2 Min video here: https://youtu.be/Nib4w0STcpM

Sry for the quality, didn't want to dig that deep into MW4 streaming :-)
