That's it PGI, I'm about as frustrated as a player can be....

An emeny Raven is "facetiming" a heavy ballastic mech. Seriously?

As that is going on, a Battlemaster targets that same Raven and I'm spectating this. The Battlemaster is mostly ballistic; UAC-5's and a PPC. 100 meters and a barrage of UAC-5 hits, along with the facetimed Heavy's UAC-5's and medium lasers can't even change the Raven's damage from yellow to orange. The Raven disengages with his rear side exposed to even more combined fire from several other mechs.... WHAT?

In the same match, a Maurader catches an Urban mech from behind, "facetiming" yet another damaged Assault mech and shoots the Urban with 8 LBX-10 (4 volleys x 2) hits and 18 SRM 6 hits and the Urban mech's damage colors simply don't change; the Urban runs away and both lights survived the match?

In that match, my Maurader, before I was destroyed, with twin Large Lasers shot another Raven sitting on a ledge 750 meters away 3 times center torso and his damage visual didn't change from yellow to orange?

OK, this is out of control.....

I'm not all that experienced and maybe I'm really missing something here but, when a heavy or assault mech can't seriously damage a mech that weights that little with some serious ordanance, something is really off in the gameplay damage processing software...

Any ideas?

I only have two things to offer:

Shoot. The. Legs.

and:

Are you sure you did not miss, especially from the server's POV?

Nerf light mechs even more?

Nah I pass, just aim for the legs or run pulses and streaks.

Light mech has ECM? Then just equip BAP or C-AP.

Lights won't go anywhere near streak mechs.

...a Raven?
A Raven of all things, called durable?

In this scenario, I'd suggest that Assault learn to aim

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say those appear to be cases of big time lag between clients and servers causing the light mechs to not be where they appear to be on your screen. They could have been 50-100 meters ahead or behind where they appeared to be on your screen, thus rendering them practically invincible.

I'd love it if any light is mech could face tank a ballistic build assault and survive. You and that mad have hirrible aim if you can't kill a raven at 35 tons and a 20 ton urbie. Even with even armor on the urb it has 10 front armor 20 if it is going all front armor. I love the fact you claim: " mad shoots the Urban with 8 LBX-10 (4 volleys x 2) hits and 18 SRM 6 hits and the Urban mech's damage colors simply don't change."

Even K-9 urbie Suicidal mutt.
Would be destroyed by that lbx 10 without the srm 6 hits. Just another bad assault pilot who can't aim or shoot the legs off a fast moving mech. Guess which weight class is played the least? Oh right, light class. Which class is nerfed the most? Lights. guess who makes life hell for assaults? I and every light mech pilot and it is quite common for us to out damage the entire charlie lance in solo q due to bad assault pilots.

Are you sure you not hitting invisible walls or rocks? Because that can happen...alot or what you proceed hitting the raven you hitting something else or client wise.

But still a raven? Thoses are my second favorite light to kill next to the lolcust.

Uhhh what? The "pocket assault" light mechs are some of the most hampered mechs in the game....they need buffs more then anything...Cougar, Adder, Kitfox (that really qualify though?), Urbanmech, ect. All are known to pretty much fall apart once fired at, and they can't always dish enough out to really trade enough, an Adder or Cougar can not face off against a heavy or assault to well and expect to come out on top to easy.

I dumped a full burn 2xERLL+4xML alpha into the back CT of a stationary Raven at short range yesterday and it had zero effect.

There's either some bad coding in the net code introduced in the latest patch because there's been a lot more rubberbanding than before or the hitboxes of the Raven are ridiculously tiny compared to the model.

What this gaem needs is turn speed limited the faster you go. Mechs being able to run in 30m circles at 120+kph on any type of terrain is completely ******* ridiculous - there were specific TT rules to prevent **** like that

Lol, 1st time I've ever heard of a raven called a "mini-assault".

OP either needs to learn to aim or there are some server lag issues

I pilot all the weight classes. Trying to adapt to each one of them all the time. And the conclusion from me (as many others) is that the Lights does NOT need any more nerfs!!
Sure the Urbie, Firestarter, Arctic Cheetah, Commando, Locust, Wolfhound and a few others are in a good place, very hard to take down. But still those who arent suffered from rescale, no enough baked in survival quirks and/ or low speed. Dont drag them down, just because one of the above wrecked your day. Its the particular mech that needs to be looked after, not the whole weight class!

Like I've been saying for a long time, lights have it waaaaay too easy in MWO. Just wasn't like that in MW4. Make them die easily like they should, but bring in unlimited respawn.

Just coming in here to say that the cougar needs a bit of buff. The arms are too flimsy.

Okay, since you're new: when you spectate, there's a delay. Always. Everything you see is a couple seconds out of synch. This is why you'll notice people missing when their crosshair is "on target" and getting hitreg when they're apparently not aiming right at the target. Tater assault can't land his CQC shots, spectator delay makes him look better than he was.

I think that is a Hitreg issue. I do encounter it from time to time. Light mechs fake the durability of an assault due to bad netcode, in my experience it occurs most often with urbanmechs so it is not related to speed either.
