I'm getting flashback to the terrible 1E and 1B ST mounts on the MCII-A - put them both low if you have to, just don't have one high and one low, it looks ridiculous.

I think they are fine. They are higher than the arm mounts by quite a bit which will definitely make it better at peeking. The only thing for me is, no matter where they put the mounts, dual ballistics are hard to mount effectively on a mech with only 60 tons to work with. In my opinion you tend to give up too much in the way of supporting firepower when going UAC/10s on a mech that small but that is just me.

If they do that, them I'm definitely getting a refund on both the Ebon and Mad Dog.

Doing the leaderboards with that variant. Just build asymmetrical and put two heavy LLs on the right side with the gauss rifle. Use the other side with the lower energy mount for 3 er-meds and lots of heatsinks. With cl-xl 375 and one jj you get all what you want for that chassis.

Actually now that i think about it, why would you even want it??

its heavier than hbk2c but wont carry more than uac10 which is comparable, they are already cool so you cant put dhs as argument and maddog wont be any faster.
Hardpoint placement didnt even register when considering viability of this mech.

Frankly I think that the ballistic Vultures should've been handled the same way MekTek did the Vulture C in MW4:

Frankly I think it suits the appearance and role of the mech much better than using the exact same low-slung arms that carry your normal lasers.

It's supposed to be MekTek's representation of the dual Gauss Mad Dog C.

indeed there was such thing, but it still looks like they used mk4.

With that level of modification it would be considered new mech.

even found some artwork for vulture c

I don't see much resemblance beyond the CT.

Go back and look at the outcry over the Hellbringer's 2E right torso. The pay-2-win-wallets-closed crowd had a FIT over the supposed advantage of that unique omnipod - on paper. Never mind that an arm could be use for an extra energy hard point, it still LOOKED too good. So if you think PGI is going to mount those ballistics in the most optimal mount and face that backlash all over again, you're high.

Don't forget the Gargoyle and Executioner got gimped as well because both offered more build options.

Just keeping the Mad Dog 100% worthless with anything but missiles. Just PGI things. Glad I didn't order it.

And I just scrounged up the money to order it. Mad Dog is one of the few clan mechs I play with any regularity, and I have most of them. It's just more fun than it has any right to be. Maybe I'll get silly with it and do a UAC10 with ATMs and heavy smalls? We'll see.

EDIT: Did some tooling around in Smurfy, and it'll fit max armor, a UAC10 w/3 tons ammo, an ATM6, 2xATM3, 3 tons ATM ammo (enough for 22.5 full missile salvos), active probe, and 5xHSL. If the heat ends up being too much, could probably cut half a ton of armor and swap the probe to a light version to squeeze in another heat sink, or just swap the HSLs over to ERSLs.

One of the only new tech entirely mechs I had real fun with was a uac/mrm cyclops, 110 damage alpha, crazy twisting, the spread is nasty, but damn is it fun and has cool synergy.

Yeah, I would have HIGHLY preferred them on the slope. The version they're showing looks a bit stupid TBH.

Except that picture doesn't make much since given that Gauss requires the removal of LAA and Hands. Technically every mech that has that issue SHOULD always have Rifleman/Jagermech-esque arms.

Was looking foward to have nice Missile HP's on the Executioner, but now if I want to do missiles I have to use 2x Missile arm that's at the mech's crotch.

But hey we getting 3xE ST like the meh need any more Energy hardpoints.... Posted Image
