Hey guys!

So I was wondering.. Everybody's talking about how Clan and IS mechs are different.. but what about how they are similar?

Are there mechs on the Clan side that are a good approximation for their IS counterpart?

For instance.. is a Mad Dog akin to an Archer?

Is a Battlemaster akin to a Marauder IIC?

A Mauler to a Timberwolf?

Note:

This is not about how Clan and IS are different, or which is OP or not..

Find mechs that are EQUALS.

My first claim:

Mad Dog = Archer.

My Laservomit TopDog (LPL, ER-ML) is very similar to my Ebon Jaguar/Timberwolf Laservomit.

Mad Dog is more similar to the Catapult, at least for 6M missile vomit builds.

The closest comparisons can be made between Orion and Orion-IIC variants, Highlander and Highlander-IIC variants. The rest are eh...

Yep. Mad Dog is just flat out more useful than Archer cause of one very simple reason.

MAD-IIC and IS MAD is pretty close to hitboxes(IIC is a bit more bulky) and firepower.

HBK-IIC and IS HBK is somewhat close in hitboxes(IIC is a bit more blocky) and depending on which IS HBK, it can carry "almost" comparable firepower to the IIC.

Orion-IIC and IS Orion are pretty close in terms of hitboxes(again IIC is more blocky) and firepower.

SHC and PXH(or cicada) in terms of playstyle is close.

GRF(with JJ) and HMN is close in playstyle if both are running SRMs.

TDR and Ebon is close on fire power.

HGN and HGN-IIC is close on hitboxes, don't know about firepower since I don't run them anymore.

WHK and STK maybe?

EXE and VTR maybe? Haven't ran a VTR since JJ nerf, but I do run my EXE alot.

Anni and Direwhale in terms of firepower.

Okay I'll try:

EXE-A ~ GHP-5H

HBR-PRIME ~ WHM-6D

GAR-A ~ BL-6B-KNT

SHC-PRIME ~ CDA-3M

SMN-F ~ TDR-9S

Mostly based on aesthetics and hardpoints Posted Image

Shouldn't the yellow line be moved up on the archer to the same height it is for the mad dog?

That line is for what you need to expose over a hill to be able to use your missile hard points with out relying on someone else for target locks.

It can't, even while going slower, which is part of why it got the armor bonus.

No, because the yellow line represents the cockpit level. The Archer has its cockpit that low, the Mad Dog does not.
