Simple enough to give Omnimechs a nod to thier lore role...flexibility! So suggestion is pretty simple..

1. Saveable loadouts (up to 3 free, maybe additional 2 for MC?)
2. At the map select screen in QP along with mech select screen in FP has a drop down menu to select the loadouts save, maybe have a free one of the stock for that varriant.

Why? Cause for all the talk of omnimechs being the eptiment of mech design they are hardly more flexible then battlemechs in game (for several reasons of the build rules but won't go there right now....) This gives distinct advantage in being able to be flexible in all game modes and maps.

Now I get that some would go freaking out cause the only Omnimechs are with the clans have omnimechs right now....okntrue....BUT once the Inner Sphere gets Omni mechs this would be something of a benefit to use them and hopefully give them some more usefulness despite alot of critics...

The Inner Sphere would need to get Omnimechs BEFORE such a change for this to be even remotely fair. And I'm skeptical if they'll show any time soon - It seems like the time for Omnitech would have been before, or at the same time as, Civil War tech.

Even beyond that, I don't really like this. It's a pretty massive buff. Just huge.

when i run clan, i see little reason most of the time to go with a clan omni over a clan battlemech . usually if i bring something omni it was just to make my deck tonnage max out or there was no tonnage equivalent battlemech available. you know, that 4th junk mech everyone brings and hopes to never actually need to use it in game. thats where the typical omnimech sits with me.

but thats only because the omnimech's main feature, to be able to switch pods quickly, is not represented in the game mechanics. like dropping in one of those rearm/repair bays like in mw4/living legends, and be offered a selection of pre-equipped omnipods, and your mech comes out with the new pods attached. that would be awesome. like when the seige is over being able to walk through a base and drop my atms and lerms for direct fire weapons. or if a light rush is detected in fp, you can easily bring in streak pods. the current answer to this problem is the eject button.

it also give is omnis a bit more reason not to suck. then when you bring in those omni switch bays (physically placed on the maps), you can make them general service bays, that can rearm and repair as well. everyone uses them. in a game whos mechanics focus entirely on surviving as long as possible, more survival features would make the game more interesting. it would make alpha and run light builds more viable, say 4 rl20s on a locust, run out, fire, run back, repair, rearm, repeat.

Wut? Cheetah is always my prime choice for Light mech role and post patch, even more so. Whenever a hot map comes up my dakka NGyr kicks more *** than any Clan Battlemechs. Warhawk-C and Hellbringer does fantastic job in my long range deck, while CMPL EBJ and HLL+CERML Hellbringer are solid for mid range pokes. Linebacker is always useful in rushing the enemy, and Nova/Huntsman are still top brawlers for 50 tons.

Clan battlemechs I use in CW are MAD-IIC, Orion-IIC-A, and HBK-IIC-A. That's it.

I agree with being able to save loadouts, but disagree with the rest.

Let us save loadouts on all mechs and select which one we want before searching for a QP match, but for FP let us do it at the pre drop screen or maybe even at the respawn screen during matches.

It's not like the omnis ability to quickly refit wasn't compensated, you get to switch hardpoints, it sounds meh but it means that the opponent won't know your loadout just by looking at your variant name. Also a quick in-battle pod refit is total BS, the tech does make it faster than normal but you still need to put in to a actual facility and spend a hour or so, possible in the drawn-out battles of maneuver they sometimes fought in but not in decisive fight, field refits of battlemechs were longer but you could do it in a jungle with nothing but the trees for scaffolding. Really the only reason the switching isn't op as all feth is because PGI did hardpoint inflation for battlemechs, if it didn't this ability would make omnis a hell of a lot better relative to most battlemechs since most would look like the highlander.

i think thats more to do with lack of other light options. the jenner iic is kind of a hit and run mech, its paper armor never lasts long in a brawl. building it out to other roles doesnt help either and there are no other battlemech options. any of the remaining 30, 35 tonners can all be built out to there roles, all bases covered. its easier to see why battlemechs are better the higher the tonnage. other classes have more options.

more clan light battlemechs pls.
