I know it was a while ago. But re-adding Sarahs Jenner to the mech store would be a really cool way to give players the choice to donate to charity!

The old event page for any new players who might of missed this.

Come on PGI, i know you guys got a big ol heart. If you gotta just cut out one of the interns! :D

Interesting. I don't think I've ever seen one of those in game.

Bummer.

I have one I play when we're IS, it's not the best Jener, but it's not bad and it was for a good cause when I bought it....

Ninja's cutting onions.

Yeah, they should do more special releases for charities and such.

I feel bad, because the reason that Jenner exists...no longer exists.

I wouldn't mind seeing another hero released for charity, though. PGI could use the good karma.

I mean- I wouldnt mind seeing the sarahs paint job done up on other mechs for the same sorta charity.

Such a good cause that the game devs could get behind. Heck Canadian, American, EU idc. Give us the choice even of which charity we want the funds from our purchase to go towards.

Re-offering Sarah's Jenner would get me to buy a Jenner. It's the only thing that would get me to buy a Jenner. But I'd buy it. It would be for a good cause.

Totally support this idea. Even if it's not that Jenner, it would be nice to see PGI do something like that more often.

Probably the best thing PGI ever did...afair they cant sell it again for legal reaons probably losing its charity status or something like that making it expensive for PGI.

The sarah jenner skin should not be 'sold' ever again. Considering it was a 'charity' and pgi's way of thanking people who put in the cash. It was cool to pgi to do but let's not have it brought up every dam year to have the 'sarah skin' to be sold. Like it was said in the original threads about sarah and the jenner if you want to donate to a charity do so without expecting a reward or recognition for doing so. If I dump a fistful of one hundred dollar bills into the salvation army's santa bell ringer I wouldn't expect anything except to hear the word thanks and go about my business.

The only thing I really regret in this game is that I didn't buy Sarah's Jenner. I had the chance but I was new and didn't really know much about the game and so I didn't. The Jenner has become a personal favorite of mine since then and now I wish I had thought differently and actually bought it. I'd buy it if it was offered but I'm not expecting it.

They should do another 'mech for Charity. Not Sarah's Jenner, as that would make it less special. But something else. Preferably not anything with more than one missile hardpoints, though. I may love SRM spam, but... I feel like turning anything into an LRM boat makes it into a disgrace. With a few exceptions.

Either way, something that I wouldn't start cursing out when I see it in a normal match would be nice.

I would support this even if its not Sera's Jenner but some other hero would be a great way to increase population for MWO and get its name out there.

We all have the option to give to charity every day. The presence or absence of an in game reward has no impact on that.

Offering a token gesture is a good way of parting people with their hard earned cash for charity.
Let's face it, money is a finite resource for most and charity competes with things that we and our families need.
I'm more inclined to make that trade off when you give people something. There's a reason they "sell" you charity buttons or ribbons. It's easier if you get something in return. It's just psychology.
When I have spare cash for charity I give to doctors without borders. I'd easily be a bit more inclined to donate if they gave me a MSF logo decal ingame.
I worked for a game company that's had a charity item ingame for almost a decade now and people line up every year going rabid about "what's the charity thing this year?". When's the last time you've seen people line up to give to charity? That sort of stuff is usually limited to blood drives after disasters.
There's nothing wrong with people asking for a charity item in a game. It's basic human psychology and not some lack of moral fibre.

I have no clue about the legalities or tax issues -- these may be ridiculous and why PGI hasn't done another charity item.

But, if they can swing it, the PGI marketing team could drive a yearly charity "thing". I think camos work well, but cockpit items to full mech variants would be great. Doesn't have to be a distinct loadout -- like the Sarah Jenner was a JR7-F I think? Or an event that you had to buy a "ticket" for? (Like leaderboards where you have to use a specific mech to get the score/prizes.)

Yes, we could just give our money directly. But doing so thru PGI may encourage folks that were not otherwise going to donate at all.

tl;dr - I'd buy into a charity item/event if PGI did one.

Can we ******* stop with this?
Every few months we have someone coming out of the woodworks and asking for this again and again...

If you want to donate to charity, just DONATE and don't ******* expect to get a cookie for it... Bloody hell, you people...

I would like to see PGI do a regular charity function, be it mech, camo, cockpit item, whatever. That would be cool, and good publicity for both the revolving charity selected, and MWO. What PGI said at the time was the reason the original charity mech took so long, was the legal work they had to put in place to make it happen. They also said at the time, that the legal work would make it possible to do this again at any time in the future.

So really, the only reason PGI hasn't done another charity event is just because they have chosen not to. Seems to me this is one area that a COMMUNITY MANAGER should jump all over. But, PGI...

But, NOT Sarah's Jenner. Leave this one alone. It was (and still is) special and unique, and deserves to remain that way. Yes, I bought one, and honestly was the best money I ever spent on this game. Would do it again for another charity (depending), or even the same charity again, but NOT using Sarah's name, or her Jenner's unique camo pattern.

And my wife and I give to charity every year. Our choices of donation candidates have NOTHING to do with what or IF we get some token or "cookie" back (most of the time we don't, which is fine). Just give in amounts you're comfortable with, to charities that mean something to you. That's enough. Charities should be personal choices.

But let this little mech pilot rest in peace, and stop bringing her up please.
