It never worked correctly (no sorting or filtering, the top results often were heavily outdated).

It's really embarrassing that PGI is unable or unwilling to implement a super-simple feature which a 17-year old trainee could do within a few hours.
A few lines of HTML-code here, some SQL-statements there and it's done.

Just use google, it's better than the bbforums search feature anyways.

For instance, if you want to search for "ultimate mech discussion", then you put it into google like this:

ultimate mech discussion site:mwomercs.com

Works like a charm.

Sure that works for those few who do know that. The least that PGI could do is to simply link to this google custom search instead of providing nothing. Posted Image

Are there any updates for when they plan on addressing the broken forum search?

It has not been functioning for over 4 months, if not more. This has nothing to do with your own computers, etc.

Yeah, I'm aware it's not working in general. That's why I'm asking if there are any updates.

My post was not directed directly at you, but on the thread in general.
Also, PGI? Hello?

To Everyone:

It also has not functioned for quite some time here. Anyone needing to search the MechWarrior Online Website in general is advised to use Google in the following manner...

--->>> https://www.google.com/search?q=<search terms here> site:mwomercs.com

...to get the results they want/need. I would recommend making a bookmark of the above URL, and then replacing "<search terms here>" with "%s" and adding a keyword on the bookmark to trigger a rapid search with it. :(

On other notes... Why the heck did PGI remove the Built-In Search Tool from IPB's Own Forum Software in the first bloody place?

That #%&$§# search function is broken since YEARS..they showed from beginning not much love for their own homepage. They are lucky to have this Com, that makes for them the Basics, like guides&Rutorials..
That search function is broken since YEARS. The Community page update was the first homepage 2update maintenance" ever? This is soooo poor from pgi.

Even if you tweet russell about it (he‘s twitter horny like Trump, they don‘t respond or do anything about the forum.
Maybe it‘s their trademark, „Have big online community, ignore it“

PGI can't fix problems on a standard forum, how do we expect them to ever fix in-game problems :D

I hope that doesn't become a "running joke". It would be rather bad if it did.
