Production Update 1 / Aug. 18, 2017

1. Definitely happening, soon.
-In-game Event.
-New loot Crate System.
2. Probably happening, but possible delays and hidden difficulties.
-Solaris
-Bolt-on System.
3. Maybe... Just maybe...
-New two maps that are promised (since.... well, forever actually. I may be actually optimistic)
-Mech divisions.
4. Probably not happening.
-Mech Hanger.
5. Definitely not happening.
-MW5 being successful game.
So, let's forget about 3,4 and 5. After all, only certain actual game content to be added is Solaris. And for money; Loot Crate and Bolt-on System. I have no interest in Solaris and Bolt-on system, but the loot crate system based on Overwatch seems interesting enough.

Very negative but I am 100% sure you are underestimating them.
Mechwarrior 5 will be good but this is a restart to the series so they are building from the ground up like the Fallout series so its a lot of work the first one.

Fallout 5?
Fallout 4 was garbage and so was Fallout 3, if Fallout 5 will still be made by Bethesda it's also gonna be garbage.

Not even close to be very negative. I may be pushing things too much by putting new maps as "maybe" category. It is more likely "maybe not happening".
And no, there are many reasons why MW5 will fail hard, which are very logical and rational reasons.
1) Game design-wise, from what we've seen, PGI has been terrible.
2) Yes, it is single-player game, but the game balance still has to be semi-decent. Given how Russ and Paul have been balancing this game, it will be very terrible as well.
3) Excluding that very first mech warrior game, the REAL start of Mechwarrior game was Mechwarrior 2. Clan mechs, stories and technologies are so entrenched in Mechwarrior series. Maybe Battletech turn-based game can slip by, but Mechwarrior without clan mechs is like... guaranteed fail.
4) Even worse, the story is supposed to be happening on during the Third Succession War, which is just unpopular time period among fans.
5) People really want to see timeline progressing, not going backwards.
1 & 2 are not that important, but 3~5 will surely sink the game, even if PGI performed miracle and gameplay is actually good.
If MW5 was about Jihad and Word of Blake, I guarantee that MW5 would actually sell semi-decently even if gameplay and balance are as horrid as MWO. But Third Succession War with no Clan mechs? Tough sell even if the game would be good.

Ok fine you don't like it but Fallout 4 made over 750 mill the day of launch. We are talking popularity here.
(not almost 750 mill day 1 of launch, over 750 mill. I don't know how much they made by day 2 or in the last 2 years after all the DLC)

Listen the guys making this game don't spend a lot of advertising. They don't talk big because they got a lot of work to do in a saturated market full to the brim of mostly garbage sellers trying to steal money. BUT, Mechwarrior 5 is being made. Battletech a new game is coming out soon. Mechwarrior Online is currently one of the best online games available and looks like it will be upgraded ALOT.
You do the math.
I can asure you that your call couldn't be further off the mark.
I only know the best games and this is one of them. Fallout and M&B are two others. I simply wouldn't be here if this wasn't the best and showing a lot of promise for the future.

While I know that the original Fallouts were well liked by the community in those early days, Fallot 3 and New V were not bad games at all imo. Granted they lost a bit of substance from the early games but there were still good.
Now Fallout 4 on the otherhand lost even more in terms of trying to be some flashy COD thing.... I agree that one was pretty bad.
Bethesda Make some of my favourite games of all time so I find it hard to hear people slagging them off. (The game engines are a little wooden granted but the scope and lore of the Elder Scrolls series is fantastic. I felt similar about the older Fallout 3 but not 4)
TLDR - Needs more legs

I also agree otherwise I wouldnt be here. It has problems but its a lot of fun too. Why is it "cool" to slag off a game that people clearly invest a lot of time in, at least you guys lurk the forums like no mans buisness but then you slate the game like it is something awful?
I dont understand.

The game isn't actually that bad, still pretty unique among all the me-too F2P arena shooters. I still see you play, no? There's a reason AAA developers are wary about committing to features during development, as things can be changed/axed for reasons beyond their control, and then it's torches & pitchforks (what, no quads? burn the witch!).
Did PGI overpromise and underdeliver? Yes, it's pretty obvious they had no clue how to build a decent game, and they can't even maintain the mess they've created. Should they also have hired someone who can communicate with the player base in a non-condescending manner? Probably yes, Chris is actually doing a great job doing that, more power to him.
Also, it's obvious this game has been on the back burner for a while. PGI will eventually run out of commercially viable mechs to add, so maybe it's time for MWO2 if MW5 does well, who knows?

Yeah... having problems and some passable features does make it a decent game. Below average, considering all the wasted potential. But when Johnny comes running in with his "one of the best online games evaaaaa", you can't help but literally rofl. I mean by now I know what to expect when I see his nametag in the forum, the first time I witnessed him pulling a similar stunt I spit tea at my (back then) brand new monitor... not cool man, not cool at all.

Trust me I am far from being a white knight. Im still very salty about my Spirt bears lacking MASC and ***** about it incessantly.
I just dont think there is any other game out that offers what this game does, even with its problems. I for one like it .... most of the time lol.

I know MWO isn't... "Great", but I'd say one of the bigger things it has going for it is being less "P2W" than most non-MOBA F2P games out there. Most of the mechs you buy for money aren't that good (At least not anymore). I mean, when was the last time an Anansi was actually OP or actually did more damage than another Spider variant, as an innate trait? Not to mention the lack of BS such as "Gold Ammo". And we never really had much of a hacker problem. (While I understand P2W is a little skewed from the topic, it's one of the things that can make MWO stand above other mecha F2P games right now. Hell, I don't even know anyone who plays Hawken anymore. Steam reviews always seem to complain about hackers and being abandoned nowadays, so MWO's really the only *good* multiplayer stompy robot shooter that's current right now.)
And honestly, even if they don't have a great track record, I'd say we should at least be a little optimistic about it. PGI was pretty forthcoming about why IK wasn't coming back anytime soon, and they are at least going a few steps in the right direction gameplay wise. Especially because none of these ideas were "Hurr durr Mechpacks", IIRC.

Success is all how you define it. For the players it's gameplay. For PGi it's selling mechpacks.

For context, Johnny also claimed that the Battletech IP is more valuable than the Star Trek IP in a previous thread. He highly overestimates the value of this franchise.
