Im also confused why their still pushing big changes to mostly FP when FP is complete garbage compared to QP, plus QP is also getting crippled down to 8v8? is this an attempt to push ppl into FP because if it is for me at least it wont work, its still confusing and unenjoyable esp for solo players, it just puts me off more and making QP smaller is not going to improve QP at all, its more likely to drive another nail in the coffin of the more popular gametype..

In game event tracker event system - nice (about time lol)
Solaris 1v1`s and 2v2`s - Nice! Thats going to make for some really intense battles, really look forward to how this turns out.
Edit - But really my Yen Lo needs to be able to take its rightful place!

There are more of us than some think that won't touch FP with a 10 foot pole. Also tbh adding 1v1 and 2v2 Solaris will just fracture the player base more as there are probably a chunk of the community that have no intention of ever stroking their e-peen in a 1v1 or 2v2 match.

Having played since Closed Beta, I really don't think 8v8 will cripple QP. IMO it would be quite an improvement since the whole murder-ball strat wouldn't be nearly as pronounced (less mechs to focus-fire on one enemy), and it just changes the pace of the game somewhat overall (slower and more mechwarrior-like, imo).
On the other hand, loosing just one mech in 8x8 can be pretty devastating, and not to mention potato players dragging the team down even more...
I think keeping FP to 12v12 is also a smart move, since the dropdeck system helps soften the blow from being melted by 12 mechs at once instantly, and it also just pushes the whole "massive battle" feeling that FP is suppose to portray anyway

an organised 8 man murderball is still as efficient and likely as a 12 man murderball, i also dont see how less players results in longer matches, it should either remains similar to now or be quicker.
I agree losing 1 player can be devastating, even worse if its a permanant disconnect, what we have now really does help thin out such issues.
cant really comment on how FP/CP would or might change as i dont play them or plan too.

Imho there was not much love for the Centurions when they quirked them, the D had a nice but also utmost insane LBX quirk but defensively the Hunchback fared much better.
The Cent is easy to leg and easy to disable its Mainweapon in the light armored RA (pretty much a single Alpha in these days) and that leaves you with the a No-JJ-SRM Zombi setup that other Mechs can do better.
Yeah, if you meet a bloke that cant hit your AC20 you may win but there are also Mechs that can do that better like the better protected and quirked HBK.
The Glory Days of Centurion Love have long been gone...
...a Mech that can outlast the enemy instead of outgun it is probably a way to exotic concept for these days o balance...
Man, i had liked that as Founder-Mech...

I totally disagree with this.. There are tons of people that like 1 v 1 pvp.. Or wanna pvp with their buddies and just plan skip this game because there is no way to do that.. Add that it could open up the game to tons of players that could end up going to play the team side.
Just like adding single player will be huge.. Play the game, open up to a whole new group of people, give them a place to learn the game, and then play pvp.

And, to those saying it will fracture the player base, moot point. They already did that by making Scouting and Comp 8v8, two modes not asked for by the community. This was. I know on these forums that a number of people already mentioned they would come back if it got implemented.

Aw no way man I think your missing out!
Have you never had a moment in a quick play match when its just you against one other guy last mechs standing? Or perhaps got yourself into a small seprate brawl away from the main fight in say a 2v2 setting?
The intensity of battle is totally different then, I dont want to stroke epeen I just like the idea of the different kind of gameplay.

I have too much life to skim through 1:40 h of "uhms" and "yeahs".
I never get why people don't give out information in textual form efficiently in the first place instead of torturing themselves through a lengthy live interview, but that's just me.

Yes I enjoy when that rare 1v1 or 2v2 happens in a match and it gets your adrenaline pumping, but a 1v1 2v2 arena... meh not really what I am looking for in this game.
Great for people who want this I am really happy for them, but for me personally (I am pretty sure I am not alone) I would have rather had them work on different aspects of the game (tanks, infantry, better QP game modes, more maps, etc. - or even better put more assets into MW5 and knock it out of the park). Historically QP is this games bread and butter, it's what most people play like it or not.
All this is going to do is draw the people who want this away from QP , thusly making wait times longer, for the ones who aren't into the competitive aspect of the game. I just don't think this will draw a large enough amount of departed vets and new blood to support all these different game modes. I hope I am wrong on this last point and have to eat crow. I really do hope 1,000s flock to the game and all the modes are populated with 0 wait time.
I know this is me and I don't represent everyone or probably not even a majority. I don't pretend to speak for everyone, but I am willing to bet I am not the only one and that there is a significant minority that won't touch a game mode like this (just like there is a large group of us who refuse to touch FP).
Anyway I really hope it works out for everyone so we can all enjoy the game

To be honest if they implement 1v1 or 2v2 I'll probably play it often, and might actually play FP, too, if that's the mode it is available in. I never play FP as it is now.
