Solaris is a concept. It's a fictional place with lots of backstory. People are excited for this concept.
Solaris as actually implemented in game is largely unknown, and frankly even what people might guess at based on lore should be considered "all bets are off". You don't know what it will be or do.
BUT - knowing the forumers, and understanding the nature of hype and nostalgia and imagination, I am certain the overwhelming majority will be disappointed and hate whatever comes of it. There's nothing PGI can do in the real world that can meet the expected perfection of unfettered imagination.
Multiplied by hundreds (or at least, dozens) of vocal forum posters. Because everyone is imagining something different.
Seriously, reply with what you believe will be implemented. What you want Solaris 7 to be.
Amusement awaits.
Solaris is a concept for sure, and maybe you are right that the wildest hopes and dreams may be unrealistic but how much more tame can you get than 1 v 1 and 2 v 2 and no FFA at all? I mean talk about minimal viable product.
I doubt this is how it will work out and I am totally convinced FFA will make it in and maybe a lot more but point made. Solaris has been low balled so far and cant really get any lower.
Same with the pools. I doubt anyone really thinks a purely 1 v 1 queue will fly or have the proper amount of competition on off hours and things like that. Or that the game can even have 2 or more queues added at the moment.
Its almost a sure bet Solaris will be random modes and maps, and random number of players because of that. Synch droppers and match fixers will hate that and that makes it even better.

They will be crying for map and mode voting and everything else under the sun to assist in synch dropping, heat min/maxing etc.
But completely random maps and modes and number of players and no match maker at all wil make the most fair matches. Dethreaters wont be tanking matches to drop tier etc.
One of the big questions that was answered in the podcast is that all mechs will be able to compete against each other regardless of weight class. A few others as well.
