Dense Urban, possibly with park, space port, and other 'open area' breaks in the map. Combination of low buildings, parking garages, massive skyscrapers, etc to allow JJ mechs to take some vertical advantages. Buildings with LARGE ROOFS that they can use to walk around on top and not always be in the line of fire.

You know we want this PGI!

I'm drooling for this map!!!! I was waiting for this since....forever!!!!

Forme, best maps in mw4 were full city environment

It will really give some mechs a chance to shine. Think annihilator, or urbie, other slow moving mechs.... A long thoroughfare, mechs from each end poking and sniping, one side begins to push to hit the other team....and passes a short alleyway hiding an annihilator in wait. They can't enter for cover, they can't stand there an poke due to the incoming fire from down the block.

This will be sweet. Unless they make something crappy.

Unless PGI releases at least 6 new maps (not reworks) in close sequence, it's a waster of time.

Even then 50% of them will be basically garbage, repetitive and with 80% of the map going unused.

The other 50% will quickly become repetitive just like ever other map.

Plus.....they don't directly make money off them, so they don't see any reason to spend money on it when they can hire more people to crank out mech paks.

perhaps some outlying buildings low enough for jumpjets, but in the main city I want them to be waaaayyy too high to get on top of.

Please for the love of [insert deity(s) here], don't give it an ugly scar of empty space right down the middle like other "Urban" maps already in game.

Yup, need a central building to nascar around with several (two) choke points midmap. Also make one side of the map small buildings so nobody ever plays on that side, just the one side with it's singular choke point...eh

Considering they are releasing the maps or at least working on them in the first place, this last part doesn't hold true.

If your business model is built upon people with nostalgia or simply enjoying the game-mostly the same players-you would do well to add in your indirect cash-earners, the things that keep the game from growing stale (Maps, newtech)-and I think PGI's kind of realizing that. Again.

On another note, they also shouldn't need more people working on mechpacks, with the rate of releases they have now.

I really hope the city is more like Boston, than NY city.. For those not familiar with Boston, It is does have grid section, but also lots of curvy roads, and very interesting lay outs, with sections of the city being very distinct. Many curves, and also elevation changes as well.

If it just ends up like NY city, i will be highly disappointed, as it will just turn into an ally shooter.

I hope they won't shy away from adding enclosed dead ends, tight back alleys, maybe a flood control channel curving around the cityscape with overpasses or short tunnels. We'll have to see what they end up with, but this is definitely a map I'm looking forward to.

I am calling it the new map will suck with all you guys will be crying about it

I'm sure they just imported and dropped river city's citadel into it. You know pugs need that fight-here-always sign. What a bummer one of the best jumper is has has only two ct lasers and 12 jump jets so using a vertical roof top would be just an easy free kill. Guess I might have to buy one of the clan mechs with a lot of jjs.

A patrol of four or more k9's with sirens blaring would be funny.

With space ports/landing pads, some of the biggest issues is the lack of space between the buildings. Incoming equipment does not have to be battlemechs but industrial mechs, etc. Talking about worlds that have seen battle after battle but constructed like they forgot large looming mechs, tanks, etc.

To me, a dense city map sounds great, but I hope they don't make it suitable JUST for brawling.. we have LURMERS too in this game..
