The Decals button has been added but that's happened before and it got shelved. Russ also mentioned custom geometry coming after decals get added.

With that in mind let's try and show Pgi we still want these things.

About decals, how much is a good price? How should custom decals be handled? Standard decals are faction decals & others that PGI should show in game. Custom decals would be you make a design and submit it to Pgi.

Custom geometry, how much should they cost? I made this part of the poll anticipating a range of prices depending on how big & complex a particular piece of custom geometry is.

Updated poll asking if there should be some Cbill & CW reward options.

BTW, custom geometry wouldn't be anything like Santa hats, etc. It'd be lore friendly.

It also won't give any gameplay advantage. It'll be purely cosmetic.

Russ's has stated in a interview before the Decals are here and done up but not ready. The idea is to have three channels for Decals just like colours cept two channels for the ones the game will have and the 3rd channel will be for user made ones.

Also I dont understand why you would want the devs to vote how much they should cost?

This thread is to just remind Pgi that we players still want these things. A decals button has gone in before, we were supposed to get decals a long time ago but didn't.

As for the second part, I'm not sure where you got the idea I'm asking for Dev. votes, the votes are for players to show our desires & what we think is fair.

All I have to say to people that voted the lowest MC haha, if they cost 750 I won't consider it a rip off, but I think 500mc is fairer

Well, standard decals only cost money once (to create) after that, they are "free", no matter if you sell 1, 100 or 10,000. Thus, while I agree that half a buck (1$ gets you between 180 and 250MC) is probably too little to be worth the effort, I won´t shell out a lot of money for small, cosmetic items either. For this, I voted 300 MC for standard decals.

Now custom stuff is different. Someone at PGI would have to look at every single entry and ok it. This means time/money spend on a 1 for 1 basis, making them quit a bit more expensive, so I voted 750 to 1250 (up to 5$).

Generally, I don´t buy cosmetic stuff unless I want to support a dev, so yeah, PGI, if you want to milk me, better get your act together

Both Cathy & Ante. have made good points. It's important these things cost enough to justify the effort Pgi puts into them whilst not making us players feel ripped off.

I voted 300 mc for standard decals, 500 (750 would be good too) for custom decals & 500 to 1000 for geometry.

I'm surprised by the number of "no" votes for custom geometry.

Custom geometry would give no gameplay advantage. It won't be immersion breaking either. There's nothing to worry about.

actually. custom decals will be made readily available some time down the road. And they should be for free. That's just my opinion.

yes custom decals !!! one of the reasons to come and play the game again for a while.

Here's an idea for decals.

What if Pgi doesn't stop at Davion or Liao, etc, but also included the Kell Hounds, Dragoons, etc. They could go even further and make famous unit decals. The 1st Davion Assault Guards, St. Ives Lancers, etc.

Yeeees to Custom Decals, would love to see my Callsign on my Mech as on the Victor in my Sig.below or our unit and company insignias like on spooky 777´s Battlemaster he did for us. yes yes yeees no matter how much it cost

The B33F put up a video of Russ announcing a few things including decals! Not just an announcement but a video of the decals being applied, etc.

I think people are and is thinking of 2 different 'decals' ideas...


Some people are thinking of stuff like this:


How they have their unit insignia, grey death legion. The skull with red background on the upper torso and legs.

The other idea some may have is things along the lines of say.... shark noses and stuff...

I want to know which one people are thinking of as some people got different ideas O_o
The last thing I want is having some large chunk of skins obsolete as well as weird stuff (applying shark mouth to phranken direwolf or misery?) or (random flowers and cats everywhere?)

In the B33F's video it looked like they were sticker type decals. Looks like you can apply them anywhere on the mech.
