It doesn't matter how good a player is in PUG matches, eventually matchmaker will do its best to get you to 1.
MM does not randomly pair players. Multiple stats are used to pair players and teams. The really good players can stay above this "1" and they will hit their wall wherever it falls.
Playing a team game with at least one other player over teamspeak absolutely changes the ballgame. I'm talking strictly random PUG matches here. This is where I play is random because I enjoy the challenge but the frustration does get to me at times. I want a challenge but not get stomped.
Yes, a decent player will carry but there is a point that one players carry is simply not enough based on the teammates paired with in a PUG game.
No player, no matter how good, can take on a whole team of at least average (not below average) players. Heat and time limits a player and every little swipe and scrach adds up. It doesn't have to be full on alphas, just accumulated scratches. They have so much armor, one only has so much time, heat and health.
This is a team game and great individual scores are because your team was good enough to be the better team, yet not good enough to take all the kills and damage.
I personally feel the higher the W/L ratio of a particular mech, the more lopsided the loss until MM has gotten you as close to 1 as possible. Eventually every player playing PUG matches will hit a wall, not necessarily because of personal skill but because of matchmaker pairing.
You may have hit your wall and MM is doing its thing to get you close to 1 as possible so you may be seeing some lopsided losses on your end right now.
I'm getting absoulty destroyed in wins in my Ember (my best mech right now):

4 wins out of about 40 games. I am averaging about lance position 1.2 over these games becaue of my kills and my damage done in this mech. I am losing the game by an average of about a 5 mech differential. It doesnt matter what I do, its just the way MM is.
This may be what is happening to you. Just take a breath and realize that it might not be you, it may be the MM algorithm.
You will be able to tell if you are a help or a hurt to your team each game by whether you place in the top or bottom half of your lance. That is really what you should focus on. MM will make you pull your hair out otherwise.
