I think it's a good move. Greater wait times don't really matter as much as having a good match. I think the Tier System is flawed as far as measuring relative skill but this will almost certainly help keep newer pilots in matches against other newer pilots in a general sense, which is nice. Nobody likes to get stomped. The Tier System itself, however, is, in my opinion, a whole other issue... ;)

Great, now reduce the weight damage has on match score by 90% and tiers will mean something.

I think it higher up the waiting match time to the point that makes the game not enjoyable for me. I saw myself going more to others games.
In my opinion is a bad move since it highs up the waiting time too much.

Longer wait times. Already takes to long to load in and get out of a match. This is the only game i have to watch movies so im not bored of waiting.

Sidenote - I didn't realize that damage against structures in Incursion didn't count towards damage dealt in a match until I made a MLX build with HMLs strictly for sniping turrets and bases, managed to take down several single-handedly, and then saw the match tallies at the end. ::wompwomp::

The reason it wasn't working before isn't because the 2 tier difference was too much it's because tier 1 players were dropped in matches with tier 5 players. Basically we didn't need this new change, we just needed it to stick to the actual within 2 tier system.

Also...kind of a silly move since moving down tiers is impossible. eventually everyone will end up in 1.

on a positive side, now you all will realize that stomps are not caused by matchmaker and never were

It's possible to down-tier, but generally only if you have a fistful of bad matches immediately after tiering up. (That happened to me when I first hit tier 3. My next five or six matches were disastrous, and I dropped back to tier 4. Thankfully, when I hit tier 3 the second time I was not greeted with similar misfortune.)

I lack the dedication to search for it, but there are threads on this forum that show that stomps can be reasonably well predicted by taking a weighted score of stats of the players, like even though everybody is tier 1, the team with a significantly higher percentage of people with positive win/loss numbers will usually stomp the ones with low win/loss numbers.

It's almost like the tier system is not the best way to automatically create balanced teams, and you can use other already tracked stats to do a better job.

Stomps in my opinion have 90% to be with coordination and teamwork.... or the lack of it.
10% on skill, but still tier 1 have bad days too.

I was wondering why the time to find quickplay matches got so damn long yesterday and I thought that there were only 24 people playing the game. Yay tier 1 club...

I guess this is incentive to get back into group queue.

I think this change, along with going back to 8v8 will be a very good thing for overall quality of matches. It should also force the "meat shielders" to take a much more active roll in their respective matches as it will be much easier to identify and isolate them. GG PGI, GG!

Also, can anybody with a Tier 5 alt account and the ability to make youtube video recordings please make a Tier4/5 wasteland greatest hits montage since now they've lost the tier 3s to help them out?

I think the people hiding in the back consistently are more of a problem than the meat shielders, but maybe thats just the brawler in me speaking.

That's also one of the major problems. I do not see myself as a T1 player, yet I am one. In theory, in one distant day we are all T1 and the MM is obsolete

This is good. It does explain the longer waiting times but that's for greater good. I hope specially lower tier players benefit from this.
