Domination: Ever Lose On Time W/o A Shot Fired?

Neither wanted to go to the circle...... They ran off as if this were a conquest match and the team asked over and over if they'd at least try.....no answer. No effort.
I was the faster non-light and I missed the circle by 5 seconds. Not a shot fired...... We were stunned?
Has anyone else experienced this??? It was a first for me and a vast majority of the team...

Better to have that band-aid ripped off quickly.

The slowest I've ever gotten into the circle on a Timberwolf was 30 seconds left. It's not exactly a speedster in the heavy category.

Was the entire rest of the team driving Dire Whales and Annihilators?

If it's Polar Highlands, the other side of the circle is completely obscured. I find it odd that the team was so heavy and sluggish that the guy that was probably in a Night Gyr was the next-fastest person to the lights, but there you are.

Even a Night Gyr should still be able to make it to the dom zone in under a minute+the dozen seconds it takes the hostile light to get there.
Edit: Testing this, maybe not. Seems like it's 1m30s or so to the dom zone. The other team still has to walk there themselves, but I suppose if you're 65kph, there's one map you could possibly be too slow to get to. Provided the other team immediately gets on the point ASAP.

Oh I don't often make it my job to get into the circle with light, as I have long range weapons. Plenty of mechs have enough speed to reach the circle as long as they don't wait for someone else to do it. The timer is really only important on FP, in QP the timer is never meaningful, as it's skirmish/nascar around the circle.

I've died a decent amount to this scenario, holding out for the hope of just one other teammate to step into that circle with me. I've often had some good knife fights before I go out tho, so not a complete loss for me.

Freshly bought, stock, unskilled King Crab in my hands.
Map : Polar Highlands, mission : Domination.
I plod along at 44 kph towards the circle.
I reach it.
Nobody there.
I hunker down between two hillocks and try to aim at the bazillion red doritos running every where.
Miss every shot.
Don't take fire.
Nobody saw me, the big honking KGC in the open in the middle of the white field.
Game won, top damage score of the whole match was 52. Duration : less than 5 minutes, including the walk at snail's pace to the circle.
I was surprised, to say the least, that NOBODY except me even tried to scratch that circle.
Rewards were ludicrously low too, since I basically did nothing except move slowly in a straight line and stop in a circle for one minute.
Sometimes, the "I want to kill robits" mentally doesn't work.

Match making new revision was in effect. 2 lights. 2 slow mediums and I'm not sure what they were and the rest were Hvy and assault....
Was interestering but I hate losing like that....

Yeah, I've stopped sacrificing my 'mech in vain so my team can cower in cover without firing a shot. Grim Plexus is the worst offender, by far.
I give friendlies until 8-9 of them are within striking distance, then pull out if they all stop short. I'd rather not waste my time waiting for the loss.

Crimson and Polar are the worst offenders

At it's core is the problem faced by most Light players in this game mode. Other players are always telling the Lights to rush the cap zone. Yet, always everyone else hangs back expecting the Lights to deal with the damage of holding it.
Long ago I said to hell with that scenario.
That's why as a Light player I never go anywhere near middle and strongly suggest that those mechs with the armour cap...
Their screams of outrage are really quite satisfying.
