I think that would be difficult. Do you remember when, was it Pentium III, had unique hardware ID function? It caused quite a fuss, and that was before internet was so common and all this ******** "mah electronic privvacy" you have nowadays.
Technically it's trivial for most software to probe certain things to make nearly unique hardware fingerprint, but the legal side is entirely different thing.

Tried new build this week based on sustained fire and not alpha strike. Got a couple game with one team kill because suicidal light and medium just pop in front of my battlemech at full speed when I'm delivering a friggin continuous stream of mrm, lmg and rotary canon on an enemy. The result is that he explode in less than 1 sec (probably all cored red) and start to argue that i'm a team killer...
Lots of time in these situation i deliver less than 10pts in friendly damage at the end of the game. Got killed a few times doing the same in medium mech. You know Sh*t happen...
But have seen some dude firing and poking ally to start a brawl a couple of times too... or doing an alpha at point blank range on a light just to see what happen.

Was just in a game with the Pilot we can't "NameAndShame" (The one this thread was started about), and what he does is by no means unintentional. He deliberately TK's while being extremely obnoxious over VOIP.
A shining example of why it's too bad PGI is overall powerless to do anything about him and his ilk.

Ok, that's bad...

However, it is in the terms of service that you had to agree to on the forums.
Either use the in game system for tking(remember though the staff won't be in till monday), or pm/tweet someone that can actually do something about it.

Most probably display lag, I see that quite often, with "normal" players.
That ... creature ... bragged on Facebook about having several hundred spare email accounts already created ready to register new MWO accounts and having written a script to speed up logon process.
There's really nothing we can do about "it".
"It" gets high by ruining other people's fun.
You retaliate ? You get a penalty, and since you're now under restriction, your fun is ruined and he "wins".
You name and shame "it" ? "It" gets attention, and even more high.
It's current account gets banned, or permabanned ? Plenty more emails left to start again.
IP gets banned ? It takes a couple of minutes following Windows integrated tutorial to setup a VPN and change your IP address.
In a Free To Play game with anonimity and no real consequences, nothing can stop "it".
I don't understand the mentality of those ... creatures ... that get their jollies with that kind of behaviour, but I'm not a sociopath.
In Real Life, we find that behaviour so abhorrent that we usually lock away such creatures in psychiatric wards or prisons, or maybe try to medicate them to make them conform to society's standards if we feel kind, but on the Internet ...
Thanx that clears that suspicion up thought "it" had managed to do something so his name didn't appear also I know what your saying about the internet and yes it's a shame there is no internet electric chair

it will be a fast match and then just start a new match.
If a poor guy needs that, ill spare a few seconds for him,
its still cheaper then giving a hobo some coin.
And i have done my good deed today.

Maybe they should start compensating you more if you are damaged A LOT by said scum and keep it normal for accidental team deaths.

Worse, a smart enemy team may do the ignoring instead, leading to your team's swift and merciless destruction.

On the other hand, it shouldn't be hard to change the penalty system a bit. When a player does continuous damage spread over some time (be it just 10 or 15 seconds) to a teammate, but less to no damage at all to enemy mechs while the TD piles up, and it ends in the blue target getting killed, then the perp is intentionally TKing that dude. Happens once, 10 or 20 minutes delay for next match. Happens again, 24 hours. Should it happen again, four or five years.

Just ignore them or say them thats ok, he can kill you in a game if he dont torment puppies instead.
Thats how you revome the fun of people like that, give him no attention or joke about him.
Its like miley showing her mumu and noone is looking ...

That ain't smart. Let the teamkiller steal all the kills? A smart enemy team calls truce and takes care of the problem. A smart team with such a TKing idiot accepts the truce and lets the reds kill the idiot. After that, let timer run down for one minute and form up to get a good game going.

I know this would ring alarm bells for some - but with a tick box to say "never charge my card" would be OK.
Also never save the full card number once verified and hashed.
Then PGI could ban the card ( and associated accounts )
Setting up an alternative email address is childs play and can be automated to create thousands - but setting up credit cards just to troll - I dont think so.

Well, I like that idea ... I've always preferred subscriptions over Free To Play ... but I don't think it's even remotely envisageable with the current crowd of players ...
I've already seen many threads asking for refunds for things that were never bought in the first place in a F2P game, so while forcing people to register a CC would curb the most horrible abuse, I think we'd see a sea of pitchforks and torches if that idea approached PGI's HQ within 50 kilometers ...

Why is it that I am limited on the number of times I can report them for taking away the other 20-23 players enjoyment of the game, but they seem to just be in every other match I play (yes, I have run into them every other match this morning)
Sorry about the rant, but I am just curious how the reporting works.
Don't worry all will be better under 8v8.
Right?

Ok so it is my (opponent') turn.........i guess it is time for PGI to fix it....limiting the registration of new accounts by using paid email address, or charge a modest fee for registration of new account......it is certainly a serious issue now.
