Well I had a very negative experience with some a-holes from a particular big high-ranked unit that I cannot name lest I get redacted again.. Posted Image

I'm pretty sure you all know these guys, they are quite famous for having the worst behavior, and I've heard for cheating also..

One of their number TK-ed me because I accidentally clipped his arm with a laser.. and when I asked him about it, his whole crew (like 5+ guys) started to verbally abuse me over chat..

My point is.. yeah.. you can report the guy.. repeatedly.. You can send screenshots to support.. but it doesn't solve the bigger issue..

The guy maaaay get banned, but yeah, he'll be back with a new account.. You can ban his whole unit, but they will all be back with a new unit with the letters switched around, and it's not gonna stop until PGI steps into this in a big, public way..

And PGI is never gonna do that, cose' most of these guys are whales that dump money into this game..

So if you're getting bullied and picked on, it seems to me all you can do is.. well.. not much. Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

Proof of statement:

I know a particular player (Appogee you might know him, he was with your unit, or one of it's iterations), that I personally reported on like 10+ occasions for cheating / hacking. And so did most of my teammates in many many drops.

My reasons for this was that EVERY TIME he was in the drop, weird stuff happened.. and by weird I mean insta-kills, impossible builds, impossible speeds, shots to impossible locations from impossible angles, absurd amounts of kills..

And guess what?

I saw that same player, even the same name, a few days ago, only in a different unit.. still kicking about..

Justice is an illusion in this game..

Then he's not a hacker, your perception is either clouded, or you have not actually played with anyone of any high skill in this game. I'm not saying he's high skilled because I don't know him, but if you tend to play with lower skilled players, when you encounter someone of high skill, it's almost indistinguishable from magic, because it is something you're not used to.

Just an idea that I'm throwing out here but could you not also have steam ban their account so they would be blocked from playing whatever game they are banned from?
Or other than a credit card you have to register a telephone number like you can do for World of warships to help secure your account? Then you could ban the phone number?

Personally, I think a possible solution would be what "another" game revolving around armored combat does...habitual TKers turn BLUE for a period of time and are fair game to everyone in the match without penalty.

...coming from a tier 1 player that doesn't have to deal with these idiots, that means almost nothing...and you're basing a lot on proposed solutions that have nothing to do with being "chicken" or "playing helpless victims".

Steam players are the minority. To get around Steam-bans, you just have to play via the launcher.

Burn-phones and gift credit cards are ways to get around those systems.

Yah, when I see a guy start shooting up my team I take him out asap. Told a story once on the forums (I think in the daily whine thread) about a Pheonix hawk that started shooting up our Battlemaster from behind. So I started firing at the guy, drawing him off our Battlemaster, and and basically just entered a duel with him. I ended up taking him out with about 100 team damage. Anyway, point of the story is to take them out before they do real damage to the team.

I just wish PGI would implement a system like Wargaming where if someone stacks up enough team damage/Tk in a match (or over a few matches) his team color changes and you aren't penalized for doing team damage to them and/or any team damage they inflict is dealt to themselves. Also, team damage being displayed on the end screen for everyone to see.

Maybe PGI could have some Moderators jump into the game and/or observe like we do when we are killed. But have the power to ban/freeze or eject the offending player. Just an idea.

I gave you a practical solution to the problem - You wailed all is woe ! PGI cant be trusted !

Once validated the card details are hashed and stored WITHOUT the 3 digit code from the back of the card that validates transactions.

If you try and re-register a trolled out card - it is checked against the "bad" hashed list and you are told to bog off.

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

I find your lack of worldly experience disturbing. Many storefronts, the vast majority of them reputable, do not require the three-digit code in order for you to make a purchase. Data hacks are a relatively common event these days, NO database connected to the greater web is completely secure. And you want me to place my financial information into one not for a purchase, but for the purposes of preventing teamkillers? Nah, mate. In your words, that impractical idea can bog off.

TKers aren't even that commonplace that they warrant a response other than to kill 'em and move along.

I'm glad my concern over the security of my financial information amuses you. I'm not so paranoid as you think, but I'm also not cavalier about it. My wife once had someone break into one of her accounts online and the thief managed to take her info, limited as it was, and charge up a storm. We lost hundreds of dollars because, as much as you may like to think, the law hasn't fully caught up with the internet-connected world. So I think I have a little better idea than you do about the dangers of storing financial information in databases of unknown security.

It's one reason Wargaming (as much as I don't like to give them credit for much) instituted the "Pink" system in WoWs. Whole idea was that "Pink" players are known team-damage/killers and can be attacked by anyone free of penalty. Granted, it opened up a whole new kind of trolling, but that's the internet and online gaming for you. Trolls are going to troll.

Yeah, and whatever damage the TK'er does is applied to their ship and not the mate they are trying to kill. So funny watching those guy blow themselves up while being a TK'ing A-hole!

I wish PGI could do something like that, but TK damage may be difficult to distinguish from normal accidental team damage. MWO is a much faster game that WoWS, and sometimes things get crazy in the mech fur ball at the end of the match.
